Job Title: Consultancy
Women Fund Tanzania – Trust (WFT-Trust)
Consultancy Vacancy:
Women’s Fund Tanzania Trust Strategic Plan: End-of-Term Review (2021–2025)
Context for an Organization:
In order to perform an end-of-term review of our Strategic Plan (2021–2025), Women Fund Tanzania Trust (WFT-T) is looking for a certified consultancy firm or team of consultants.
The first and only women’s fund in Tanzania is called Women Fund Tanzania Trust. As an established women’s rights fund dedicated to empowering girls, women, and women’s rights organizations through grants, thought leadership, and investments in outreach and capacity enhancement for women rights issues, WFT Trust occupies a unique position within Tanzania’s mainstream women’s rights movement. It is in touch with the real issues affecting real women in their real lives and circumstances because of its reach and concentration on the engagement of grassroots level women organizations and the articulation of their agenda.
Based in Tanzania’s women’s rights movement, WFT-Trust fulfills its mission by utilizing a two-pronged strategy for the empowerment of women and girls. The first is an inventive grant-making mechanism that links and targets grassroots women actors with national level organizations, and the second is its strategic alliance and partnership-building functions. This establishes a mutually beneficial and encouraging cycle of movement building that aims to raise the profile of women’s voices and highlight their contributions to the development of a Tanzanian society in which women reach their full potential and actively participate in community transformation for social justice and empowerment.
Goals:
This consulting’s major goal is to evaluate the Strategic Plan 2021–2025’s influence and progress during the last three years, pinpoint areas for improvement, and offer suggestions for the remaining time and future planning. The efficiency, sustainability, and efficacy of WFT-T’s operations and plans should all be assessed in the review.
Work’s Scope:
- Evaluate the overall performance of the program in light of WFT-T’s distinct funding strategy and dual function as a movement builder and financier.
- Examine major successes, difficulties, and areas that need work.
- Analyze the success of WFT-T’s initiatives for movement development, capacity building, and grantmaking.
- Examine the robustness and durability of results with a feminist orientation.
- Examine the leadership, governance, and operational performance systems of WFT-T.
- Provide a thorough report including conclusions and suggestions.
Techniques:
A well-rounded strategy including a review of the literature and supporting documentation and active stakeholder participation should be suggested by the consulting. Interviews with important parties, such as funders, board members, grantee partners, and field trips outside of Dar es Salaam, may be necessary for this.
Deliverables:
- Initial Report describing the timetable and methodological strategy.
- Draft Review Report with concise conclusions and suggestions.
- Final Review Report answering the draft’s comments.
- Key findings are summarized in a PowerPoint presentation.
- Presentation of findings to WFT-T stakeholders for a half-day.
Qualifications for Consultants:
- A minimum of five years’ experience overseeing evaluations, especially those with a feminist or women’s rights bent.
- Measurable proficiency with participatory methods and change analysis theories.
- Experience collaborating on campaigns for children’s and women’s rights.
- Strong writing, presenting, and analytical abilities.
Schedule and Funds:
The consultation is expected to start on June 17, 2024, and end on August 15, 2024. All pertinent expenses, such as professional fees, travel, lodging, and other necessary charges, should be included in the proposed budget.
Procedure for Application:
