Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA)
The Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) was formed by Parliamentary Act No. 1 of 1994, as revised by Cap 82 of 2219. The major purpose of VETA’s foundation is to oversee Tanzania’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) system.
Its responsibilities include marketing, organizing, providing, regulating, and securing enough and consistent funding for the country’s VET system. “Tanzania with sufficient and competent artisans” is VETA’s goal. VETA’s objective is to ensure Tanzanians have high-quality, demand-driven vocational skills by providing, promoting, regulating, and financing Vocational Education and Training.
