One of Tanzania’s two primary railway networks is operated by the state-owned Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC). The headquarters are situated in the Dar es Salaam Region’s Mchafukoge, Ilala District.

TRC was established to take over the East African Railways and Harbours Corporation’s operations in Tanzania following the corporation’s dissolution in 1977 and the distribution of its assets among Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The inland shipping branch was separated into its own business in 1997.

TECHNICIAN II (SIGNAL & TELECOMMUNICATION) – 10 POSTS

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To organize, create, build, and maintain S&T systems and equipment.
  • To supervise the use of the market and the growth of the fiber optic cable along the railway system.
  • To set up, maintain, and fix SGR/MGR signals as well as telecom infrastructure.

  • To use winches and cranes in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To accept, dispatch, and signal trains.
