Tasks and Accountabilities:

  • Oversee regional efforts to enforce compliance and put sourcing strategy into action.
  • Oversee the adoption, deployment, and adherence to the procurement procedures and instruments across the entire organization.
  • Analyze and choose providers who can satisfy Wasoko’s needs while keeping overall costs to a minimum.
  • Handle RFI/P, record suggestions, and inform vendors of outcomes.
  • Participate in vendor management, agreement management, procurement projects, and sourcing activities.
  • Establish, carry out, and evaluate contractual agreements with suppliers in order to meet the organization’s cost-saving goals.
  • Create and preserve mutually beneficial connections with the category group’s major vendors.
  • Make recommendations, put the required tools into practice, and continuously work to save costs.
  • Lead and oversee the successful accomplishment of the procurement department’s functional goals by inspiring, developing, and managing team members to ensure that their individual and group performance satisfies the organization’s present and future demands.
  • Participate in upholding internal control guidelines and putting all audit recommendations into practice.
  • Accountable for offering new or younger team members assistance, direction, and training. In addition to mentoring and inspiring local operations buyers to accomplish their goals.
  • Set, meet, and report on value and cost targets for all inventory purchase activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Requirements: 5–8 years of relevant experience.
  • Optimal: strong experience managing CAPEX and OPEX as a procurement specialist.
  • A bachelor’s degree, ideally in engineering, finance, statistics, or supply chain management.
  • Capacity to operate both autonomously and effectively in a high-pressure sales atmosphere.
  • Show a thorough understanding of procurement policies and procedures, with a focus on project management.
  • Strong organizational and data analytic abilities.
  • Strong presenting, written, and oral communication skills.
  • A readiness to travel for business.

2. Job Title: Security Controller / Supervisor

Wasoko wants to provide a retailer with all they require; banks and wholesalers are not needed.

With Wasoko’s mobile ordering and delivery platform, thousands of retailers in East Africa can order and receive goods swiftly and affordably, and for the first time, they can also apply for expansion finance. We are seeking highly skilled and driven individuals that are eager to work in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment to expand our team.

Job Locations: Mwanza, Arusha, and Dar es Salaam.

Concerning the Role:
To manage Wasoko’s security and CCTV activities, we are searching for a Security Supervisor/Controller. The position is situated in one of East Africa’s many warehouses. You have to have a strong interest in business continuity, asset protection, loss prevention, security, and investigations.

An expert with over five years of experience in the private sector of employment.

To the Security Manager, you report.

Positions and Accountabilities:

  • Help oversee and maintain security policies and procedures; Perform loss prevention audits; Respond to emergencies in line with the emergency response plan.
  • Accurately record in daily officer reports and incident reports any noteworthy activities that occur throughout a shift.
  • Make regular patrols around the structure.
  • Respond to help the security manager look into employee concerns, accidents, and thefts.
  • Observing individuals in various settings to spot any instances of odd or questionable conduct.
  • Following suspicious people as they go through a system of streets or inside a building.
  • Communicating with local law enforcement or security personnel to deliver comprehensive information about suspects, including their whereabouts, behavior, and appearance.
  • Ensuring proper recording and storage of video footage and the proper operation of the CCTV system.
  • Providing copies of video or access to CCTV recordings in order to help with inquiries as needed.
  • Collaborating on safety and security training with the several departments and units involved.
  • Verify that every subcontractor security worker hired by Wasoko, whether directly or indirectly, complies with its policies and guidelines.
  • Communicate with security service providers to guarantee that the bank receives effective security and cash-in-transit services.

Job Conditions:

  • Security Studies diploma or post-secondary certificate.
  • Eight years of security operations experience.
  • Familiarity with FMCG products and warehouses.
  • Having loss control experience will be beneficial.
  • Needs to have prior management expertise overseeing contract security firms.
  • With expertise in criminology, investigations, and security protocols.
  • Needs to have a lot of experience with security, people management, CCTV control rooms, and investigations.
  • Thorough understanding of technological and physical security systems.
