Job Title: STS Operator – Ports and Terminals
Work Function:
Runs the Quay crane when the ship is loading or unloading containers.
Important Domains of Performance / Key Performance Areas:
- Loading and unloading of containers onto vehicles or vessels and vice versa.
- Maintain order and safety in the workspace.
- Observe the cues given by Lasher, the vessel Tally clerk, and the hatch man.
- Make sure personnel and securing equipment are transferred and containers or other loads are moved and placed safely.
- To prevent additional damage to the equipment, check for defects or damages and report them right once.
- When operating the quay crane, make sure the boom is free of any impediments, such as the ship’s mast, radar, and antenna.
- Before moving in any desired direction, secure the cabin position in the back reach to get a broad perspective and look for any obstacles at the crane tracks.
- Notify the hatch man of any vessel damage you observe.
- Move the crane only after the vessel is securely fastened.
- Once all tasks have been completed, raise the boom, turn the crane off, and secure it.
- Perform routine interior window and cabin cleaning.
- Adhere strictly to the storm and inclement weather protocols.
- By adhering to QHSE guidelines for job-related operating and maintenance processes, you can help the organization meet its objectives.
- Any dangerous situation or act should be reported, and you should act on it right away.
Required Qualifications:
- Above the Intermediate Level of Education.
- Certified with the necessary tools by Bandari College.
- Bandari College’s operating license.
Requirements for Experience and Skills:
- Two years minimum of work experience in the same capacity in terminal operations.
- Completely compliant with safety protocols.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Good written and spoken English language skills.
- Capable of working as a team.
- Able to adjust to changing working conditions.
- Able to perform shift jobs.

Job Title: RTG Operator – Ports and Terminals
Work Function:
Update container placements and move the containers from the truck to the yard or the other way around.
Important Domains of Performance / Key Performance Areas:
- Fill and empty containers in accordance with the guidelines.
- Accountable for maintaining order and safety in the workplace.
- Observe the moving instructions and the designated work area as they are provided.
- When grounding in a yard, take the direction of the container door into consideration.
- Before beginning work, check or inspect the equipment for any defects or damages.
- Every week, check the RTG and complete the checklist.
- To prevent additional harm, report any engine problems or other flaws while the machine is operating.
- Start the appropriate VMT and Terminal Operating System log-in and log-off processes.
- Update the system with every movement of a container for shifting and grounding.
- Make sure the containers are positioned at an angle.
- When driving a truck with side panels, exercise caution.
- When crossing or traveling the RTG, make sure the CT Supervisor or Foreman is there.
- Before using the RTG, make sure both runways are free of traffic.
- Perform routine window and cabin cleaning.
- Make that the RTG is parked safely and correctly after operations or in inclement weather.
- Adhere strictly to the storm and inclement weather protocol.
- Give the following shift operator all the information they need to know about the condition of the equipment and VMT unit.

Job Title: Operations GC Supervisor – Ports and Terminals
Work Function:
Enhance the general cargo/bulk/IOP terminal process flow and other commodities’ movement between land and maritime transportation.
Important Domains of Performance / Key Performance Areas:
- Lead, inspire, and energize those working under his direction at all times.
- Briefly exchange information.
- Take part in the design of the yard and the vessel’s berthing schedule.
- Prioritize tasks according to disasters and decide when to halt and resume operations while keeping all safety regulations in mind.
- Oversee the ship and the associated terminal activities, such as horizontal transfer and cargo delivery and stowage.
- Make routine checks of the yard to keep an eye on the goings-on.
- Support and disseminate the terminal policy and provide structure for it.
- Make that every piece of equipment complies with all applicable safety rules.
- Make sure that the quantity of cargo passing through the gate is accurately recorded in all pertinent data.
- Oversee the container terminal’s handling of large or heavy lift shipments.
- Use yard equipment to its fullest potential in order to maximize production for both land-side and vessel operations.
- When a ship is engaged in operational activities, coordinate the activity at landside locations.
- Keep an eye on and evaluate the productivity norms’ quantitative and qualitative characteristics.
- Keep an eye on the employed personnel’s quality of work and its associated costs.
- Organize and preserve staff availability.
- Personnel presence rationale.
- Arrange the necessary equipment for the operations after consulting the technical department.
- Draft, write, watch, and modify the protocols.
- Determine the phases of a typical performance management cycle, which includes goal-setting that is strategic and procedures for efficiently tracking performance and offering helpful criticism.

- It is your responsibility to obtain and distribute all the paperwork needed for load and discharge operations.
- Ensure that resources are allocated as efficiently as possible to meet predetermined production goals.
- Oversee all vessel operations, including lashing, both on board and at the port.
- Verify adherence to work procedures.
- Communicate with the shift in charge if there are any issues or modifications to the crane program that need to be made during loading and unloading.
- Make sure cargo is handled safely.
- Give Forman instructions regarding the work schedule.
- Make sure that every cargo hold is cleaned, and after it is, have the chief officer sign off.
- Prepare accident and damage reports, sign them, and forward them to the superintendent.
- Throughout the shift, keep an eye on, document, and forward BGC activity to the superintendent.
- Track and document the productivity and delays of the vessel.
- Respect all work procedures to the letter. (SOP).
- Assigned tasks by the GC and Bulk Superintendent should be completed.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Preferential rigging and lifting certificate.
Requirements for Experience and Skills:
- Work experience in the terminal of at least four years, but preferably six.
- Completely compliant with safety protocols.
