PLAN International
The Plan International Tanzania has been operating in Tanzania since 1991. Our program helps underprivileged children and youth, particularly adolescent girls, grow up physically and emotionally healthy, ready to choose their own destiny. We foster an enabling climate and encourage girls to be active agents of change in achieving their rights. We value collaboration and evidence-based practice in all of our activities. The Keeping Adolescent Girls in School (KAGS) project is a 5-year Global Affairs Canada (GAC)-funded project that aims to address key barriers that prevent adolescent girls from realizing their right to safe, quality, and gender-responsive education, with a particular emphasis on their unique needs and barriers to participation in primary and lower secondary school.
The project’s Ultimate Outcome, ‘Adolescent girls realize their rights to safe, quality, gender-responsive education,’ will be achieved through a three-pronged, rights-based, gender transformative approach that addresses demand- and supply-side barriers, strengthens local governance, and improves linkages between education, health, and child protection systems. The organization is an equal opportunity employer.
