The Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) strives to be Africa’s chosen source of accessible specialist health services, serving as a healthcare social enterprise as well as through community and vulnerable population development projects. CCBRT is committed to preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible, and it also conducts substantial maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) initiatives, such as obstetric fistula repairs. The Maternity and Newborn Wing is a referral center for high-risk and emergency deliveries in Dar es Salaam and Tanzania’s Eastern Zone.
To boost the hospital’s finance department, CCBRT seeks an experienced, detail-oriented Lead Accountant to supervise the accounting division.
Job role:
The Lead Accountant is in charge of monitoring day-to-day financial operations, including maintaining correct accounting records, adhering to financial standards, and providing timely reporting. The responsibilities include managing bookkeeping, overseeing junior finance staff, preparing financial statements, coordinating audits, and assisting with budgeting and cash flow forecasting. The position needs excellent attention to detail, leadership, and hands-on expertise managing accounting systems and procedures.
Job Qualifications and Work Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a similar profession.
- The CPA/ACCA certification, whether full or partial, is advantageous.
- A minimum of 4-6 years of accounting experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
- A proficient in accounting software, particularly ERP SAP.
- The ability to prepare and analyze financial statements.
- It is critical to understand how to create and maintain internal controls.
- Knowledge of hospital billing systems, NHIF, and insurance claims is an added benefit.
- The budgeting competence in creating and monitoring departmental budgets is required.
- Excellent ethics and attention to detail.
