Are you a finance enthusiast with a great eye for detail and a strong desire for accuracy? NovFeed, a biotech firm in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, is looking for a talented accountant to join our dynamic team.

 

 

The Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that monthly and annual reports are accurate and timely; coordinate the monthly closure process; and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • To collaborate with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.
    To coordinate the creation and review of bank reconciliations.
  • To create Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for accounting professionals and evaluate their performance.
  • Create and implement new procedures and features to improve the workflow of the unit.
  • To manage tax administration to ensure compliance with all tax requirements (VAT, Withholding taxes, Income Tax, PAYE/SDL, Stamp Duty, City Service Levy).
  • Maintain conformity to the company’s accounting procedures.
  • To monitor the accounting service, working to improve efficiency and resource use while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • To perform any additional duties allocated by your line manager within the scope of your work.
  • Create a monthly accrual table and reconcile accruals posted to invoices received.
  • To supervise the monthly closing and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.

 

 

The Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a similar profession.
  • A proven expertise in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related job.
  • A proficient with accounting software such as QuickBooks, TALA, SAP, and Xero.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial rules.
  • An excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The ability to analyze financial data and produce reliable reports.
  • Three (3) or more years of work experience.
