About the role:
The position is in charge of assisting the Director of Finance / Assistant Director of Finance in maintaining the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, as well as supervising other areas within the Finance Department as directed by the Director of Finance / Assistant Director of Finance, such as payroll, accounts payable, and general cashiering, in accordance with all applicable local and corporate policies and procedures.
What you’ll Do:
The position necessitates a thorough comprehension of the Accounting & Finance Manual and familiarity with USALI rules. It entails overseeing the month-end process, which includes creating financial statements, accruals, journal entries, and doing reconciliations for all balance sheet and bank accounts in compliance with accounting rules. The position is responsible for budget planning, financial forecasting, and reconciling discrepancies. Daily, monthly, and periodic financial reporting must be accurate and timely. Participate in physical inventory counts, ensure value correctness, and protect cash assets through reconciliations and audits. Payroll administration entails processing payroll data, resolving problems, managing garnishments, and maintaining compliance with local labor laws.
The position also entails aiding with month-end adjustment entries, compiling documentation for internal and external audits, and conducting compliance audits for payroll and labor regulations. Cross-training across finance functions is required to ensure coverage during absences. Credit rules, including billing, credit histories, and collections, must be successfully managed while visitor and credit queries are handled promptly and professionally. The check-in and check-out processes must protect hotel assets without burdening guests. Building excellent customer relationships allows for more efficient collections and communication.
In addition, the work entails conducting monthly credit meetings, maintaining compliance documentation for service charges and gratuities, and coordinating labor compliance audits. Proper documentation and reporting are required for audits and compliance purposes. The worker must be prepared to assist the financial team with any additional tasks allocated by leadership, while adhering to company norms and promoting operational efficiency.
What you are bringing:
- Three to four (3 – 4) years of experience as an Accounting Manager in a luxury hotel.
- Taxation and local revenue authority experience.
