The job responsibilities:
THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Advise clients on commercial transactions, claim liabilities, the merits of pursuing or defending cases, and legal rights and obligations.
- Interpret laws, rules, and regulations for individuals and corporations.
- Analyze case outcomes based on legal precedents.
- Evaluate facts and build methods and arguments for case presentations.
- Gather evidence to create a defense or commence legal actions, such as questioning clients and witnesses to determine the facts of a case.
- Represent your firm in court or before government bodies.
- Examine legal data to evaluate if it is appropriate to defend or prosecute a lawsuit.
- Prepare and draft legal papers, such as patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
- Prepare legal briefs and opinions that will be presented to management.
- Civil problems (disputes) should be settled by negotiation.
- Consult with colleagues who specialize in relevant areas of law to create and verify the foundation for legal proceedings.
- Look for and review public and other legal records to form views or establish ownership.
- Supervise legal assistants.
- Carry out/ perform administrative and management tasks linked to the practice of law.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor’s degree in law, preferably with a postgraduate diploma in legal practice from Tanzania’s Law School.
- Working experience of at least three years in the legal field.
- Ability to operate under pressure and fulfill strict deadlines.
- Quick learner who can work with minimal supervision.
- Must be knowledgeable with all Tanzanian legal rules.
- Must be adaptable in day-to-day job.
- Adequate knowledge of standard computer applications.
The Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education: At least a bachelor’s degree is required, with no upper limit.
- Experience: Not less than three years.
