Your job (role):

This function is largely responsible for creating and diversifying company to enhance income, ensure the organization’s future growth, and surpass preset annual targets. Working closely with the pricing desk to negotiate the best prices and allocations with appropriate carriers in order to maximize yields and business growth. Working closely with customer service teams to ensure that outstanding service is consistently offered to customers.

 

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Own, oversee, and lead all Business Unit sales efforts for clients under your responsibility, ensuring that prospects are identified, qualified, and nurtured through the sales funnel in order to close profitable and sustainable customer transactions.
  • To coordinate your sales efforts with the Customer Care Managers, Pricing, and Air Logistics Business Development teams, including pricing decisions.
  • Monitor competition, gather current market information on pricing and products.
  • To submit client feedback to the customer care staff and assist with resolutions as needed.
  • To coordinate with customer service colleagues when onboarding new consumers. Before we begin business, we will establish the necessary structure for a successful relationship (credit facilities, standard operating procedures, and operational alignments).
  • To keep and update the most relevant customer information in internal systems.
  • To conduct regular client portfolio reviews with the client Care Managers and team.
  • Focus on client engagement, satisfaction, retention, and reactivation by providing high-quality service in close coordination with the customer care team.
  • Visit at least 30 clients per month, half of which must be new. Aim to build and strengthen customer relationships, as well as business development.
  • To visit existing customers with the operational/customer care teams to improve their experience and relationship growth.
  • Create at least 50 quotations per month, with 50% targeted at new business/clients.
  • To create at least 50 chances per month, 50% for new clients, and 100% through the Quotation Tool.
  • Prepare for and participate in any tender opportunities that arise within the customer portfolio supplied.
  • To create and manage a healthy customer/opportunity pipeline, and schedule weekly catch-up conversations, market updates, and pipeline meetings with the Pricing Specialist.
  • To communicate and coordinate particular client requirements, including requests for quotes, with the organization.
  • To determine and implement the sales strategy on targeted accounts in accordance with the National Air Logistics Manager.
  • Be aggressively and penetrate the market using sales leads and business development guidance, and gather additional customer and market knowledge by contacting peers at other Kuehne+Nagel stations.

 

 

Your Experiences and Skills:

  • A bachelor’s or first-year university degree in sales, marketing, or economics, or a BA from a respectable institution, is required.
  • A preferred experience: 2-5 years in a clearing and forwarding/logistics setting.
  • A preferred experience includes project management, freight forwarding, and commodities exporting.
  • An excellent communicator and team player.
  • An advanced computing capabilities.
  • A professional selling and problem-solving skills.
  • The persuasive communication skills, empathy, adaptability, and positive language use.
  • With patience, active listening, and time management abilities.
  • To travel domestically.
  • A driving license.
  • Proficient in both English and Kiswahili.
