The job advert summary:

The opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Contract Manager to implement, manage, and optimise all Unitrans operations on the sugar plantation in Tanzania.

  • To assist with the contract management process within an organization. They will collaborate closely with the Contract Manager and other members of the team.
  • To initiate, plans, coordinates, motivates, and monitors operations on the sugar plantation.
  • To liaises closely with the immediate superior.

 

 

The Minimum Education Level: Bachelor’s:

  • Degree | Advanced diploma.

 

 

The minimum requirements:

  • Matriculation with an appropriate tertiary certificate in B.Eng Mechanical Engineering Degree.
  • Must be computer literate with a solid understanding of the Word and Excel products.
  • 3-5 years of senior management experience is required, with agricultural expertise being preferable.
  • Knowledge of applicable labour relations legislation and procedures.
  • Interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on industrial interactions.
  • Excellent customer-service abilities.

 

 

The work also demands knowledge and awareness of the following:

  • Tanzanian labour legislation.
  • The health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • An Organizational management systems, which include policies and processes (Management systems encompass financial, administrative, operational, and human resource systems).
  • The relevant computer software, including RTK and GIS.

 

 

The Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The operations budget is prepared in accordance with the approved format and presented by the prescribed deadline, taking into account all contractual activities.
  • All the accounting deadlines are satisfied monthly.
  • The revenues and expenditures are within the budgeted parameters.
  • To meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue targets.
  • To manage the cane hauling activities, including mechanized harvesting.
  • To manage a variety of ancillary operations, such as road maintenance, canal and drain excavation, drone supervision, bulldozing, crop spraying, and fertilizer application tasks.
  • Optimal driver and vehicle utilisation is achieved.
  • The “Daily required delivery” requirements are met.
  • The daily communication with operations management personnel is maintained.
  • The vehicle fleet conforms with all legal criteria.
  • The Health and Safety rules and procedures are followed.
  • The quality management policies and procedures are followed.
  • To check and approve all monthly 4B data.
  • The vehicle maintenance data is analyzed.
  • To ensure and sustain great customer connections.
  • The problems/complaints are promptly resolved for the benefit of all parties involved.
  • The excellent customer interactions are maintained.
