The Guardian Limited, Tanzania’s biggest newspaper firm, is recruiting for Assistant Sales Representatives in Mbeya, Iringa, Morogoro, Tanga, and Mwanza. This position focuses on growing circulation sales, advertisement sales, and e-paper subscriptions, so contributing to business growth in the given region.

 

 

The key responsibilities:

  • To drive newspaper sales, subscriptions, and e-paper growth in your allocated region.
  • Identify and acquire new advertising clients for both print and digital media.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with vendors, agents, and corporate clients.
  • To conduct market research to uncover potential sales opportunities and industry trends.
  • Maintain correct sales records and ensure that payments are collected on schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement sales and promotional tactics.
  • Offer regular sales reports, performance updates, and recommendations.

 

 

The Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Must dwell in Mbeya, Iringa, Morogoro, Tanga, or Mwanza.
  • A diploma in sales, marketing, business administration, or a similar subject.
  • A proven sales and marketing expertise, ideally in the newspaper or media industry, will be advantageous.
  • Excellent negotiating, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • The ability to work autonomously while meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • A high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and digital sales tools.
  • A familiarity with the local market in the designated region is advantageous.
