What you’re going to do:
- Serve as the organization’s main point of contact for any networking and system security issues.
- Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure and security systems on a regular basis.
- Offer sophisticated technical assistance for endpoint security, firewalls, VPNs, and network connectivity.
- Work together with the IT/HOD team lead to implement and maintain system integrations and improvements to the secure infrastructure.
- Keep an eye on all systems for security threats and vulnerabilities, analyze them, and take appropriate action.
- Help with the planning and implementation of network performance and cybersecurity posture enhancements.
- To support security objectives, continue to work closely with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Reach key performance indicators (KPIs) such compliance metrics, incident response times, and system uptime.
- Create and put into action plans to effectively and efficiently accomplish project and security goals.
- Throughout the course of network and security-related tasks, make sure there is clear communication and collaboration.
What we are trying to find:
- Computer science, information technology, computer engineering, telecommunications engineering, or a similar discipline at the bachelor’s degree level.
- At least four years of experience in positions involving network and system administration
- Certifications such as MTCNA and MTCRE are beneficial.
- CompTIA Network+ or CCNA/CCNP would also be beneficial.
- A strong practical knowledge of firewall rules, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and MikroTik and Ubiquiti (Unifi) network settings.
- Strong ability to conduct IT security audits, carry out risk assessments, and put in place efficient access controls, along with demonstrated experience in developing, managing, and safeguarding LAN/WAN infrastructure, especially in multi-campus settings.
- Domain Controller and MikroTik environments.
- Strong practical understanding of Linux-based systems and Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP, and GPO).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure/Google Workspace), email systems (MS Exchange, M365), and endpoint management tools.
- Competent in structured cabling, troubleshooting, network topology documentation, and network monitoring tools (such as PRTG, The Dude, and SolarWinds).
- Outstanding report-writing and communication abilities, with the capacity to explain technical matters to non-technical employees.
- Possesses a sincere enthusiasm for technology and lifelong learning, as well as professionalism, ethics, confidentiality, and a strong sense of cooperation.
- An benefit is having prior expertise in an educational setting, especially when it comes to handling requirements like content filtering, student access management, and BYOD rules.
