Summary of Work:
The creation, installation, and upkeep of automation systems for the beverage manufacturing process fall under the purview of the Beverage Factory Automation Engineer. In order to optimize production processes, minimize downtime, and guarantee the effective operation of automated machinery and control systems, this role demands competence in electrical engineering, programming, and system integration.
Primary Accountabilities:
The Design and Development:
- Create, develop, and put into use automated systems for the bottling, packing, filling, and labeling steps in the beverage production process.
- For new automation projects, create thorough system architectures and engineering specifications.
- To operate industrial equipment, create programs for PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces).
The System Integration and Maintenance:
- Connect automated systems to the machinery and production lines that are already in place.
- In order to reduce downtime and guarantee effective functioning, perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on automated systems.
- Schematics, operating manuals, and other paperwork pertaining to automation systems should be kept up to date and maintained.
Process Optimization:
- To increase productivity, quality, and safety, analyze production data to pinpoint areas that need improvement. Then, put automation solutions into place.
- Work together with production teams and process engineers to automate manufacturing processes for maximum efficiency.
Safety and Compliance:
- Verify that every automation system complies with business rules, industry standards, and safety legislation.
- To reduce the likelihood of mishaps and injuries, evaluate potential risks and put safety precautions in place.
Project Management:
- Oversee automation projects from inception to conclusion, including resource allocation, scheduling, and budgeting.
- To guarantee the successful completion of the project, collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors.
Training and Support:
- Give production and maintenance workers technical assistance and training on how to operate and troubleshoot automated systems.
- Keep abreast of market developments and new technological advancements to enhance automation solutions over time.
Job Qualifications:
- Automation engineering bachelor’s degree, or a similar degree.
- Three to five years of automation engineering experience, ideally in a setting that produces food or beverages.
- Proficiency with industrial control systems, HMI/SCADA systems, and PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
- Strong background in process control, instrumentation, and electrical and mechanical systems.
- Gaining knowledge in robots, sensors, and vision systems is advantageous.
- Outstanding ability to solve problems and pay attention to details.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- The capacity to oversee several projects and adhere to deadlines.
