The purpose of Role:
The Autonomous Maintenance Operator will be responsible for performing, supervising, and coordinating repairs and changeovers, as well as replacing worn parts and subassemblies. The role holder will assist the tradesperson with significant maintenance; perform basic condition monitoring; and create and improve troubleshooting diagrams and one-point lessons.
The key Accountabilities:
- Technical – Understanding and applying technical abilities to operate, maintain, improve, and repair (OMIR) equipment. This permits manufacturing targets to be met safely, with the appropriate level of quality, and on time.
- To understand the fundamentals of mechanism and motion, and be able to perform changeovers, basic repairs, and adjustments.
- Use suitable lubrication regimes to keep all equipment properly lubricated.
- Knowledge of pneumatic principles and their application on the machine unit; ability to perform problem detection and basic repair.
- Perform basic electrical duties on the equipment (e.g., lockout/tagout, isolation procedures, fault location on a common control system, and testing and verification of common proximity sensors).
- A Safety – Use proper safety and environmental practices for people, processes, materials, products, and equipment to create a safe working environment for the entire team.
- Environment – Reduce waste costs while minimizing the impact on health, safety, and the environment by working to reduce waste and managing trash and hazardous items properly.
- A Quality – Ensure that all areas of quality within the scope of duty are consistent with Diageo Quality procedures in order to protect and promote the brand and product.
- A Leadership entails promoting the formation of a highly successful and autonomous team through excellent communication and teamwork, while remaining focused on the team’s goals and objectives.
- A coaching entails promoting certain talents within an independent team and teaching them to others in order to promote excellence.
- A continuous Improvement – Use performance metrics to detect and prioritize losses in the production area. To remove losses, use rigorous cost deployment and the zero-loss approach.
- A problem Solving – Demonstrates the ability to detect, prioritize, and address problems using appropriate tools and approaches to prevent recurrence, such as replacing faulty components.
- A Production Output: Understanding production plan targets and reviewing performance are critical for driving functional goals at the individual and team levels.
- The Administration – Work with colleagues to schedule shift and break cover, induct new employees, and manage performance gaps to ensure that team resources are available to meet operational needs.
The required Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline.
- A certificate in the suitable engineering discipline will be advantageous.
- Three (3) years of experience/competence in operations, maintenance, process control, and performance measurement in a brewery, beverage, or food production setting.
- To demonstrate a thorough awareness of the Permit to Work system, SBL SHE rules, statutory requirements, and responsibilities.
- Show an awareness of collaborative ideas, continuous improvement, preventive maintenance, and issue solutions.
