THE OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION:
To accurately execute transactions, maintain competitive turnaround times, and provide excellent customer service. His or her politeness and efficiency frequently mirror the Bank’s level of customer service. He or she is responsible for making sure that front and back office tasks are completed in a timely, correct, and polite manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Lead potential clients who approach the counter with questions.
- Organize every counter activity while making sure that clients receive excellent service.
- Accept deposits of cash and checks.
- Transactions are posted.
- By checking and signing the printouts, you may confirm that the teller proof of cash and teller proof of checks match the original paperwork.
- Examine internal vouchers closely to make sure they are correctly authorized and drawn within the approval parameters.
- Manage the exchange of foreign currencies.
- Customers can be cross-sold bank products.
- Putting pictures in customer pass books for new and ongoing customers.
- Address concerns about ATM cards in correspondence with card custodians; review reports to address client grievances.
- Whatever additional responsibilities that the supervisor or BFO may occasionally assign.
- Respect local laws and regulations, bank controls and procedures, as well as bank policies and standards.
- Report Any Questionable Transactions.
- Make sure you adhere to bank policies regarding money laundering prevention and customer due diligence (also known as know your customer, or KYC).
- Give new clients ID cards and passbooks.
- Before paying for a customer’s account, carefully reviewing and short casting their passbooks.
- Compiling and assessing interest, commissions, and other bank fees for clients.
- Complete delivery notes and registrations for things that are dispatched by post from one office to another.
- Balancing the cash of the tellers every day after business closes.
- Verify and sign the back-office entries that the corresponding clerks or tellers have raised.
- Create an accurate and timely bank reconciliation statement.
- Clear and reconcile all pending transactions.
- Records are bundled and filed for storage in the record rooms.
- Any additional tasks that a superior assigns.
INTERPERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DETAILS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields, or equivalent training from any accredited institution: banking, accountancy, auditing, finance, tax management, community development, education, ICT, marketing, commerce, or business administration with a focus on accounting or finance. An extra benefit is being computer educated and knowledgeable about accounting software.
