Job Title: Biomedical Engineer – 2 Posts
Answers to/ Reports to: Regional Operations Manager

Summary of the job:
Responsible for testing, installing, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing dialysis machines, RO systems, and other medical equipment utilized in AHN dialysis centers to assure patient care quality and efficacy.
The Key Responsibilities:
The Center Level Engineering:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot RO systems, dialysis machines, and other medical equipment utilized by the clinical staff.
- Create/ develop in-depth understanding of dialysis, including the numerous machinery and components required to design and maintain a dialysis machine.
- Knowledge of/ understand the various Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Nipro, Fresenius, and Baxter/Gambro dialysis machines, including the variances between the manufacturers.
- Collaborate with other medical professionals, including doctors and nurses, as well as end users (patients and their attendants).
- To train technical or clinical personnel in equipment use and maintenance.
- To maintain the equipment to its peak performance by implementing a planned maintenance program for all equipment and responding to emergency breakdowns and repairs.
- Make sure that any normal tasks required within the centers are completed as needed, such as loop disinfection.
- Examine the clinical reports from the designated centers to ensure that all BME concerns are handled.
- Inspect and repair equipment/machines at the corporate or hospital location.
- Respond to issues reported on the ground according to TAT requirements.
- T0 think critically and tackle complicated technical challenges.
- To assist with additional engineering and technical issues as they arise, such as installation and maintenance of ICT equipment.
- Communicate and maintain connections with device makers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Carry out any other engineering responsibilities that have been allocated.
- Keep track of spares, consumables, and equipment history, among other things.
The Reporting and Other BME Oversight:
- To coordinate RO reporting at the central level.
- To maintain the BME maintenance trackers.
- To coordinate monthly investigations at the centres.
The Supervisory Responsibilities (direct reports):
- None.
A desired competencies:
- A degree in biomedical engineering, biomedical science, mechanical/electrical engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience with health and safety/quality requirements.
- Enough (excellent) grasp of Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Passionate about AHN’s mission.
