The Mwanga Hakika Bank Limited (MHB) was established in 2020 from the merger of three entities: Mwanga Community Bank Limited, Hakika Microfinance Bank Limited, and EFC Tanzania Microfinance Bank. Mwanga Hakika Bank has a Business Development Manager vacancy.

 

The Purpose of the Role:

The Business creation Manager is in charge of driving loan and advance growth, deposit mobilization, trade finance business, Bancassurance, and the creation of alternative products at the regional level. This entails overseeing all sales operations, providing support, monitoring, and training to the Branch Sales Team, and ensuring that business plans are implemented effectively in the branch.

 

 

A summary of major duties and responsibilities.

1. Business Solicitation Acquisition and Recruitment:

  • An actively find, solicit, and approach potential Corporate clients to open accounts, ensuring that all customer acquisition channels are operational at all times.
  • A regularly visit existing clients to improve their experience and foster long-term ties.
  • To identify areas and sectors in your community that are important for corporate business growth, including Loans, Deposits, Trade Finance, and other product offerings.
  • To collaborate with the Corporate Department to create goods that address the specific needs of the community.
  • To provide regular feedback to the Head of Corporate on the performance of various products and services within the region.
  • To engage with the Retail Banking Department to better understand possible retail prospects from their clientele (One Bank Concept).
  • Respond to consumer inquiries about business difficulties and address issues quickly.

 

2. Deposit Mobilization (Low Cost Deposits):

  • Understanding the local conditions ahead of time can help boost deposit growth.
  • To supervise and drive deposit mobilization initiatives in the branch.
  • An actively solicit deposits from clients to satisfy the bank’s deposit targets, ensuring long-term growth and retention.
  • Be proactively to follow up on activities listed on the branch’s calendar to improve deposit mobilization efforts.

 

3. Cross-Sell and Product Promotion:

  • To promote and cross-sell a diverse variety of bank products, including mobile banking, internet banking, agent banking, insurance products, loans, foreign exchange, trade finance, and transfers.
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence on local competition, client preferences, and service levels.

 

 

4. The Relationship management:

  • To drive customer engagement initiatives in branches to build excellent client relationships.
  • To meet with potential and existing clients on a frequent basis to foster connections, gain trust, and retain consumer loyalty.
  • To identify new potential clients and devise ways for integrating them into the bank’s customer base.
  • To build and sustain long-term relationships by addressing client needs, providing solutions, and assisting with their growth through personalized banking products and services.
  • To manage continuing client business contacts and attend corporate customer events to increase engagement.
  • Make sure that acquired consumers are active and engaged in order to reduce customer turnover and preserve profitability.

 

5. Reporting, Monitoring, and Performance Tracking:

  • To maintain an up-to-date database of high-net-worth clientele for the branch.
  • The regularly monitor branch company growth using key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring that sales and revenue targets are reached.
  • To support loan processing by ensuring speedy response times and aiding with branch-level loan recovery initiatives.
  • To manage the performance of corporate loans to reduce non-performing loans (NPLs) and provide effective portfolio risk management (PAR).
  • To provide inputs and reports to the Stressed Asset Management Unit to aid in the timely recovery of troubled loans.

 

6. Coaching And Mentoring:

  • Regularly coach and advise the branch sales staff to increase performance and meet sales targets.
  • To monitor and report the sales team’s performance against agreed-upon KPIs.

 

7. Other Duties:

  • Participate in branch budgeting for all sales-related activities to ensure alignment with the bank’s objectives.

 

 

The Key Competencies Required and Academic Background:

Job Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of banking experience, preferably in business development, sales, or branch operations.
  • A thorough awareness of banking practices, product knowledge, and banking laws.
  • Outstanding customer service management, sales, people management, and risk management abilities.

 

The Knowledge and Skill:

  • Displays a strong customer service approach, with a focus on improving the customer experience.
  • Te ability to assess market conditions and consumer requirements in order to drive business success.
  • A proven experience selling and cross-selling banking goods such as loans, deposits, and other financial products.
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining long-term connections with customers to ensure client pleasure and loyalty.
  • The experience leading sales teams and meeting sales targets.
  • A high degree of integrity and trustworthiness.
  • A team-oriented, with the capacity to work across departments.
