Job Title: Business Intelligence and Reporting Manager

The Airtel Money Tanzania Ltd is looking for a business intelligence and reporting manager. The post reports to the Airtel Money Director in the Airtel Money Department. The incumbent will be responsible to:

  • To offer timely, accurate, and targeted information to Airtel Money’s leadership. Create and deploy effective business and commercial reporting to improve decision making. Guide pricing decisions and plan accordingly.

 

  • To develop a framework for commercial procedures and assist Airtel Money’s Senior Leadership in tracking routine divisional objectives.

 

  • To provide the highest standard of report development, implementation, and support to all Airtel Money leadership in order to meet user reporting requirements and incidents associated with the content of access to or generation of the reports, ensuring the reports’ availability, completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.

 

 

The Responsibilities:

I.  To manage Airtel Money Business reporting, BI, and Market Intelligence.

  • To create business intelligence tools or systems, such as relevant databases, spreadsheets, or outputs, and then manage or update Airtel Money’s business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, and methodologies.

 

  • To identify and analyze industry or geographic trends that have consequences for corporate strategy. Regularly update management on market and competitor actions and products. Responsible for AM planning, pricing, and promotional tactics.

 

  • Gather mobile money business intelligence data from industry reports, public information, field reports, and purchased sources.

 

  • The synthesize current business intelligence or trend data to offer actionable suggestions.

 

  • To provide historical, present, and predictive perspectives of Airtel Money’s business performance, primarily using data gathered into a data warehouse or data cube, but occasionally dealing with operational data.

 

  • To analyze competitive market strategies by examining relevant product, market, or share trends.

 

  • Create an analytics capacity to proactively discover possibilities for business units to effectively exploit data. Working with the team, he or she will build the BI and analytics platform’s strategy and roadmap, as well as drive the features and capabilities required to give the insights required by evolving business needs.

 

 

II.  Prepare reports for executive management business reviews.

  • The extract data and create reports on Airtel Money’s customer base, agent base, product performance growth, and revenue development.

 

  • To prepare quarterly Airtel Money reports for presentation to the Airtel Tanzania board, as well as monthly reports for Group business reviews that include customer and agent market share, transaction volume, transaction value, and market revenue share.

 

  • To analyze Airtel Money’s weekly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identifying reasons for growth or fall in important business KPIs.

 

  • Create standard or customized reports summarizing commercial, financial, or economic data for use by executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.

 

 

III. To give Airtel Money Commercial teams visibility into company performance.

  • Increase business visibility and intelligence for the broadest range of business users – business development (C2B, B2C, Mobile banking, B2B), consumer products (Cash In, Cash Out, P2P, Airtime).

 

  • To purchase, Data Bundles Purchase, Loans, Card), and enterprise sales teams (corporate and merchant account performance), allowing every user in the organization to receive real-time, relevant, and actionable knowledge through a web-based interface.

 

  • Create customer and product reports and offer technical support for existing reports, dashboards, and other tools.

 

  • Airtel Money promos and campaign tracking for specific product campaigns, customer acquisition programs, champion challengers, active customer tracking, and product user profiling and segmentation.

 

  • An actively participate in routine and ad hoc data and business projects that include accessing the data warehouse.

 

 

IV. Data Mining

  • Create data extraction queries, reports, and automations that meet quality requirements and established processes for corporate reporting and decision support.
  • To extract relevant information from massive data sets or databases.
  • To take responsibility for producing and validating data operations reports using the data sources and tools provided.
  • To work with data and product owners to confirm and gain consent that any modified data remains accurate.
  • An execute one-time data extraction and modification activities as needed.
  • To ensure that any data integrity issues are reported immediately and summarized weekly for management and those who are authorized to receive this information.

 

 

V.  Support the development and deployment of Airtel Money report automation.

  • To lead data development and integration across the enterprise, which includes data production, identification, and extraction from source systems, as well as data transformation and loading into databases.
  • Data Modeling, Dimensioning, and New Reports Development in accordance with reporting requirements, following the processes, and guaranteeing the completeness, timeliness, and correctness of regular daily, weekly, and monthly reports, as well as ad hoc reports.
  • Collaborate with the Airtel BI partners and vendors’ teams to ensure that any ongoing development satisfies the business user requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in IT, business planning, and the business to ensure consistency in data definitions and usage.
  • Create and manage policies and standards that guide data consumption, storage, retention, and definition development.
  • To analyze, simulate, and account for trends and gaps in the data presented, advising the business accordingly.
  • To document the standards for business intelligence or information technology (IT) reports, dashboards, and other outputs.

 

VI. Team and stakeholder engagement.

  • To prepare monthly performance presentations for Sales and Distribution.
  • To manage the timely delivery of business intelligence information to users.

 

 

The Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline, as well as an MBA.
  • At least 6 years of expertise using service reporting tools such as Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition and Oracle Discoverer.
  • At least three years of expertise with planning and reporting.
  • A strong Business Knowledge – Experience with telco BI and planning is required. Candidates with mobile money knowledge will be given preference.
