Job Goal of the Position and Principal Duties:

 

Purpose of the Job:

In addition to ensuring timely financial account preparation, the post holder will be in charge of guaranteeing the statutory accounts’ financial integrity. The Chief Finance Officer will get reports from this position.

Important duties.

  • Compile financial statements and make sure IFRS compliance.
  • Creation of monthly management accounts, such as the balance sheet, P&L, and revenue account.
  • Management of funds and control over the investment portfolio.
  • Control of the Register of Fixed Assets.
  • As needed, put financial controls into place and keep an eye out for threats to them.
  • In charge of the credit control division.
  • Assisting with external and regulatory audits and coordinating internal audit in cooperation with the internal audit department.
  • Oversee sign-offs and accounts reconciliation in collaboration with other departments.
  • To guarantee that the subordinates execute to the best of their abilities, oversee and mentor them.
  • Meet the performance standards outlined in the department’s personal scorecard, balanced scorecard, and strategic map.

  • Revenue from investments.
  • Respect for the law, regulations, and business needs.
  • Examine and approve the monthly bank reconciliations.
  • GL account reconciliation for all of them.
  • Claim processing and commission payment turnaround times.
  • Timely delivery of the monthly reports.

Required knowledge, expertise, and credentials are:

Requirements for knowledge, expertise, and certifications.

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting, or a degree comparable.
  • Accountant with full qualification (CPA (T) or ACCA).
  • Six years of comparable experience, two of which need to have been spent in a supervisory capacity.
