The ActionAid Tanzania (AATZ) is an affiliate member of the ActionAid International Federation, a global organization that works with women, men, and children living in poverty and marginalization to identify ways to reduce poverty and injustice. AATZ has been operating in Tanzania since 1998 as a cross-border initiative by ActionAid Kenya, and it was later transformed into a full-fledged Country Program in 2000. We started our business in Zanzibar in year 2001. Since then, we have released four country strategy documents, which have helped the country’s general development.

 

The AATZ is registered in Tanzania’s mainland and follows the Zanzibar Society Act No. 6 of 1995. AATz is represented at the ActionAid International Assembly.

Currently, the organization is looking for a skilled, experienced, and self-motivated young individual to fill the following open position:

 

Position Title: Child Protection and Resilience Inspirator

Answers to (Reports to): Program and Partnership Manager

The duration of placement: 12 Months

 

 

The Job Role:

The goal of this placement is to strengthen TAS, the AATZ partner in the Bright Future Project, in the areas of project coordination and management.

 

The key responsibilities:

The inspirator is responsible for training TAS and secretariat members in project planning and management skills:

  • Evidence-based advocacy.
  • Project management, monitoring tools, evaluation, and learning.
  • Project documentation and outcome collection.
  • Project outcomes and methods.
  • Financial management includes assistance in formulating financial policies and procedures.
  • Resource mobilization, which includes creating a resource mobilization strategy.

 

 

The inspirator will also:

Supporting TAS members, Mitindo school community, and households of children living with albinism to push for better services for children with albinism.
Support TAS members and the AATZ team in improving the approach for supporting children and communities with albinism.

 

 

The essential experience and skills:

  • Ability to mobilize and organize the community.
  • Resource mobilization abilities.
  • Experience with both a human rights-based and feminist perspective.
  • Building a social movement, organizing it, and designing its strategy.
  • The training experience.
  • Campaign Design and Execution
  • Project management experience, particularly through volunteer work, will be advantageous.
  • Lobbying and advocacy skills, as well as previous experience working with CSOs.
  • Building a team, being imaginative, being ready to work with less supervision, and being a results-oriented person.
  • Ready to inspire team members to embrace change.
  • The multidisciplinary knowledge allows for work in remote regions while being adaptable to the environment.

 

 

The Education requirements:

  • University graduates or advanced diploma holders from reputable institutes in development studies, social science, or project management.
  • A master’s degree in any social science will be advantageous.
