Job Title: CNG Operation and Maintenance Technician

The Main Purpose:

The CNG Operations and Maintenance Technician is in charge of the continuing maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems at the CNG filling/mother/daughter station and its associated infrastructure. The function assures operating efficiency, safety, and adherence to both local and international standards. To ensure the station’s reliability and safety, the technician will be responsible for maintaining system performance, responding to emergencies, conducting inspections, and coordinating with maintenance contractors.

 

The Knowledge and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

Main responsibilities:

The Operation and Maintenance:

  • Maintain the appropriate operation of CNG compressors, dispensers, storage systems, and pipes.
  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment, such as compressors, dispensers, storage tanks, and pipeline infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair any mechanical or electrical issues with station equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Repair and replace damaged components to ensure that operations continue to run smoothly and efficiently.
  • To ensure that the CNG station, maintenance areas, and all equipment are clean, orderly, and free of safety concerns.
  • To maintain a high level of hygiene in the station’s mechanical and electrical rooms in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines.

 

 

The Safety and Compliance:

  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and national safety requirements.
  • Keep track of the gas pressure, leakage, and emergency shutdown systems.
  • To implement emergency procedures in the event of a gas leak, a fire, or another dangerous circumstance, adhering to all safety protocols.

 

 

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Conduct frequent inspections of all station systems, equipment, and safety devices (for example, pressure relief valves, gas leak detection systems, and fire suppression systems).
  • To monitor station performance data to detect early symptoms of equipment failure or inefficiency.
  • Equipment such as gas dispensers, pressure gauges, and compressors should be tested and calibrated to ensure maximum performance and accuracy.
  • To manage your energy consumption and increase efficiency.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and operating data.

 

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

  • To respond swiftly and effectively to operational emergencies or equipment failures, reducing risks and downtime.
  • To coordinate with vendors and suppliers on spare parts and technical assistance.

 

 

Reporting and documentation:

  • Create reports on downtime, repairs, and overall station efficiency.
  • To maintain detailed maintenance logs that report on the status of the equipment and any corrective actions done.
  • Send regular reports on system performance, maintenance operations, and safety audits.
  • To assist in keeping an inventory of tools, spares, and other items needed for ongoing maintenance.

 

Team Coordination and Training:

  • Teach site operators about CNG station operation, safety protocols, and emergency response.
  • To work with the CNG engineer, site manager, and station operators to guarantee a seamless operation.

 

Required experience:

  • A minimum of three years of hands-on expertise in the maintenance or operation of mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems, ideally with CNG.
  • A certification in CNG operations, safety measures, or electrical/mechanical maintenance is recommended.
  • Excellent understanding of CNG systems, including turbine flowmeters, dryers, filters, compressors, cascade storage, and dispensers.
  • A thorough awareness of HSSE rules and compliance standards.
  • The experience with operations management and maintenance coordination.
  • The excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to drive ongoing progress.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • A Strong experience in CNG operation and maintenance.

 

Required Skills:

  • Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to understand technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance instructions.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements in CNG operations.
  • Working with contractors and internal teams requires strong communication and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to operate under pressure and respond quickly in emergency situations.
  • It is advantageous to be proficient with maintenance management software.
