Job Title: Commercial Manager

Work location: Dar es Salaam

The unit: Beverage.

Answers to (Reports to): the General Manager/Chief Commercial Officer.

The key Job purposes:

Take responsibility for the company’s sales performance, market promotions/events, and manage and lead the commercial agenda to meet sales volume and category goals. Work to assure commercial objective attainment, customer service delivery, and local account management within the country, including market intelligence reports on competition moves and strategy. Effective optimization of all resources and cross-functionalities yields the best results.

 

The key responsibilities:

Sales:

  • To ensure that all established goals and volume budgets are met.
  • An analytical and insight-driven decision making.
  • To create new opportunities and coordinate with the Chief Commercial Officer for assistance.

 

Customer:

  • To plan, organize, coordinate, control, and carry out core responsibilities (sales, account management, and coaching).
  • To track client sales and take remedial action to better understand their demands, as well as market and industry trends.
  • Keep (maintain) customer and market historical data.

 

The Resources, Records, and Presentations:

  • To identify, allocate, track, and evaluate resources to increase sales.
  • Examine and analyze the data that is available and collected.
  • To provide comments, deliver presentations, and facilitate corrective measures.

 

The Qualifications and Skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, sales, economics, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree (recommended) in a business-related field.
  • The 5+ years of experience in a similar commercial position.
  • A strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding sales forecasting, brand strategy, and promotional planning abilities.
  • A strong financial knowledge and the ability to handle budgets and operational expenses.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiating abilities.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure workplace while driving team performance.
  • I’m enthusiastic in customer relationship management and market innovation.
