Job Title: Communication Manager

The goal of Tanzania’s biggest microfinance company, BRAC TANZANIA FINANCE LIMITED (BTFL), is to responsibly offer a variety of financial services to those at the bottom of the pyramid. We specifically target impoverished women in remote and difficult-to-reach locations in order to empower them economically, foster self-employment options, and foster financial resilience.

To fill the following post, BRAC Tanzania Finance LTD is looking for applications from capable, driven, and self-motivated individuals.

 

 

The Job responsibilities:

  • To support BRAC International’s transformation plan through effective internal and external communication actions.
  • Create a country communications plan for Tanzania.
  • Help establish a communications plan for a significant program.
  • Communicate with employees and external stakeholders to keep them informed about organizational developments.
  • To collaborate with the media on many levels and come up with ideas to sustain and promote the Organization.
  • To schedule interviews and media events, as well as assist with report preparation and approval for media extracts.
  • Act as a spokesperson for BRAC Tanzania Finance LTD.
  • To develop ties with major media to secure and expand media coverage both online and offline. Improve brand equity and reputation management.
  • To support BRAC Tanzania Finance LTD’s purpose and program objectives.
  • The capacity building for the Country Focal for Crisis Communication and Brand Building.
  • Collecting (collating) and analyzing current communications and messages while guaranteeing consistency.
  • Other responsibilities may include sending press releases, scheduling interviews, writing case studies, and assembling press kits.

 

The Safeguarding:

  • To ensure team members’ safety from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation in order to meet the program’s safeguarding implementation goals. Serve as a primary source of assistance, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding in order to create a safe workplace.
  • To practice, promote, and advocate safeguarding policies among team members, as well as guarantee that safeguarding standards are followed in all courses of action.
  • To follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in the event of a reportable occurrence, and encourage others to do the same.

 

 

The Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Master’s or bachelor’s degree in journalism, mass communication, public relations, or marketing.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in an international organization.
  • A strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally.
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital/social media and photographic skills.
  • Must exhibit great organizing abilities.
  • Must have a strong network with local media.
