Position Title: Consumer Business Unit Director

What You’re Going to Do

With a focus on the Consumer Business Unit, Vodacom Tanzania Plc is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join its Executive Management Team. This candidate will report to the Managing Director and appreciate working in a fast-paced and competitive environment.

The role’s objective is to translate the Vodacom Commercial Strategy and implement the Vodacom Tanzania Plc Commercial agenda in order to significantly increase value for Vodacom Tanzania Plc.

The role would oversee the Consumer Business Unit function and be in charge of the following areas: voice, data, SMS VAS & Content, international business & roaming, terminals, sales & distribution, digital, strategy, and governance; brand; customer value management; pricing; customer insight and analytics; consumer segmentation and proposition.

establishing guidelines on CBU emphasis areas for budget targets, and developing long-term consumer strategy across all regions to deliver budget & LRP targets

Ensure that Vodacom Tanzania Plc delivers on CBU priorities.

KPIs for performance:

  • Targets for Vodacom Tanzania Plc’s revenue and customers, as well as market share of revenue and subscribers.
  • Costs and efficiency in commerce, Market share in the priority area, CVM’s contribution to CBU, consumer NPS, and contribution margin/P&L Brand Safety.
  • Evaluating and tracking customer company performance in relation to goals.
  • Offering advice on CVM, loyalty programs, business intelligence techniques, pricing and products, terminals, and roaming costs.
  • Act as Vodacom Tanzania Plc’s representative and represent CBU to the Vodacom Group.
  • By offering direction, assistance, and in-depth analysis on tactics, as well as by developing and disseminating best practices.
  • Increasing the CBU’s human and technological resources in crucial business domains (CVM, Brand, Big Data and Analytics, consumer segments, VAS/Content & Pricing).
  • Lead the digital transformation of CBU operations, sales, and distribution through the agile squads.
  • Examine CBU operations to see how well goals are being met or identify areas for possible cost savings, program enhancements, or policy changes.
  • Plan, organize, and carry out goals, strategies, or initiatives to guarantee ongoing business operations and optimize investment returns.
  • Manage the pricing, product, and related commercial activities of business units.
  • Manage and organize CBU units to get the most out of your investment and boost productivity.
  • Oversee talent, change management, and resourcing and retention in human resources.

Job Qualifications:

  • College Earn a B.Com. in business, economics, or another related field.
  • A postgraduate management degree, such as an MBA, is crucial.
  • Strong background in sales, business, and technical operations for at least 12 years is required.
  • A minimum of five years of seasoned business management experience working at the executive or director level in the FMCG or telecoms sectors.
  • A strong history of using business acumen to get outcomes that work.
  • Thorough understanding of the company’s operations and market trends
  • Comprehensive understanding of the telecom industry combines technical proficiency with commercial breadth to build and evaluate company strategy goals from a global viewpoint.
