Job Title: Credit Risk Analyst

The Job Purpose:
The Credit Analyst, who reports to the Head of Credit, is in charge of examining and analyzing the financial capability of loan applicants. The analyst advises acceptance or decline based on timely and high-quality credit facility offers. These evaluations are based on good credit and financial concepts, and they provide expert judgments to authorizing authorities so that they can make educated decisions.
The Key responsibilities:
The Credit Risk Analyst is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- To ensure that all approved loans match the creditworthiness standards.
- Make recommendations based on the analysis and assessment of credit risk for all credit applications.
- Examine, evaluate, and comprehend complex financial data in loan applications.
- Create and develop spreadsheets and models to assist with the analysis of new and existing credit applications.
- To provide advise to all bank stakeholders on credit risk management policies, processes, and standards.
- To ensure that the bank’s loan portfolio remains high-quality.
- Assist the Head of Credit in successfully implementing the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework to create a risk-based system for identifying, measuring, monitoring, controlling, and reporting bank-wide risks.
- To evaluate the gathered information to gain a complete grasp of the business characteristics that generate profit/value, as well as the dangers associated with them.
- Carry out /perform any other duties as directed by the Head of Credit from time to time.
The Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- A university degree or similar qualification in business administration, banking, finance, economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of banking experience, including three (3) years of credit analysis or credit risk analysis (especially in MSMEs).
- A solid comprehension of financial statements, ratios, and ideas.
- A proficiency in Microsoft Excel is advantageous.
