Purpose of a Job:

To carry out fundamental database administration tasks for all of the bank’s database management systems while making sure that best practices are upheld for database system development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.

The Main Responsibilities.

  • Carry out routine database administration tasks, such as capacity planning, space management, configuration and monitoring, database backup and recovery, and disaster recovery setup.
  • Handle daily maintenance and troubleshooting of enterprise databases, including analysis, troubleshooting, and repair of production, test, and disaster recovery issues in addition to responding to business query requests (scheduled and ad hoc).
  • Utilize tools to proactively monitor database systems and guarantee secure services with little downtime.
  • Install databases and upgrade server software together with other products (such Weblogic Application Servers).
  • Oversee database recovery and backup procedures.
  • Support planned processing and system maintenance during off-peak hours.
  • Handle cases and forward them to senior database administrators so that issues can be fixed.
  • Take care of any additional tasks that have been allocated.

 

The required Qualifications.

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a similar discipline.
  • OCA and OCP are professional certifications in Oracle Database 11g or higher.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience managing sophisticated Oracle databases.
  • Knowledge of shell scripting.
  • Technical familiarity with MS SQL, Oracle, and other recently developed databases.
  • Administration experience with both Linux and Unix.
  • Analytical, decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills—oral, written, and interpersonal.
  • Capacity for both alone and group work.
  • ICT Service Management abilities.
