Job Title: Deputy Registar – Licensing – 1 Post

THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer the National Industries (Licensing and Registration) Act No. 10 of 1967 and the Business Licensing Act of 1972.
- To provide advice on industrial and business licences.
- Direct and manage all operations within the Directorate of Licensing.
- To manage the drafting of recommendations for applications submitted to the Industrial Licensing Board.
- Approve feasibility studies presented by prospective investors.
- To communicate with other institutions about licensing concerns.
- To offer technical advise to potential investors on licensing difficulties.
- To handle the licence register.
- Participate in the development of strategic plans, annual budgets, and operational plans, including execution timelines, resource requirements, and key actors.
- To organize the creation and distribution of Directorate performance reports to the appropriate users.
- To assess and approve industrial and business licenses.
- Suspend, revoke, or cancel issued licenses as necessary.
- To collaborate with Regional and District Trade Offices within Local Government Authorities to streamline licensing processes using online platforms.
- To undertake any other duties as given by the Chief Executive Officer.
A Holder of a Master’s degree in Economics, Law, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Statistics, International Trade, Economics and Finance, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, or similar qualifications from a recognized higher education institution. The Master’s Degree must be tied to the Bachelor’s Degree.
The Qualifications and Experience:
A holder of a Master’s degree in Economics, Law, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Statistics, International Trade, Economics and Finance, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, or similar qualifications from a recognized higher education institution. The Master’s Degree must be tied to the Bachelor’s.Must have at least eight (8) years of experience in a similar subject, with two (2) years at the senior level.
THE REMUNERATION:
- Based on the BRELA Salary Scale.
