Background:
Unifying women and young entrepreneurs throughout Tanzania, the Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC) – www.twcc-tz.org – is an important organization. TWCC was founded in December 2005 and functions as the highest level and umbrella organization for business women associations, companies, cooperatives, groups, and sole owners in many sectors. With more than 12,000 members as of right now, TWCC serves over a million women from all walks of life through its 27 regional chapters across Tanzania’s main island and Zanzibar, 14 women’s sectoral associations, and 11 platforms that support women involved in cross-border trade.
In order to support company formalization and growth, TWCC’s main goal is to unite women and young entrepreneurs, especially those operating in the unofficial sector. By providing women with the tools and resources they need to succeed, TWCC works to reduce poverty among women through active capacity-building initiatives and mentorship programs. In addition, TWCC works collaboratively with organizations in the public and commercial sectors to promote laws that are beneficial to the growth of women-owned businesses.
Summary of Work:
The Driver ensures the highest standards of discretion and honesty, a feeling of responsibility, and superior awareness of protocol and security concerns while providing TWCC Head Office executives with dependable and safe driving services. It is required of the Driver to exhibit a client-focused attitude, tact, politeness, and the capacity to collaborate with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Principal Tasks and Accountabilities.
Support for Logistics:
- Transport TWCC officials and employees to meetings, outings, and other locations as needed for official business.
- Obtain and transport mail, parcels, and equipment; keep track of all shipments and distributes.
- Carry out pick-up tasks from different locations as instructed by the supervisor.
- Collaborate with the relevant departments to pursue different compliance matters.
- Help with shipment receipt, packing, labeling, and distribution to various locations as directed.
- Comply with any purchase-related tasks that may occasionally be issued.
Car Upkeep (Vehicle Maintenance):
- Make minor repairs, schedule routine upkeep, and make sure the car is always clean and in good operating order.
- Make sure the car, including the tools, are safe and in good hands.
- Verify that all necessary supplies and documentation are available, such as the first aid kit, necessary spare parts, office directory, vehicle insurance, registration, logs, and a map of the city or nation.
- Make sure that the procedures mandated by laws and regulations are followed in the event of an accident involving the office vehicle.
Administrative Assistance:
- Create reports for administration.
- Keep track of all car records, official travel logs, daily mileage, fuel voucher usage, and consumption records.
- Maintain records of insurance and other paperwork.
- When needed, help office workers with filing, photocopying, and store maintenance.
- Help in the distribution and mailing of publications and communications.
- As instructed by the Administrative Officer and Human Resources, gather and distribute mail.
- Check on utility bills and deliver checks within the allotted time.
- Make sure that car maintenance plans are used appropriately, and offer support in creating vehicle history reports.
- Make sure the car is in good condition and clean.
- Before using the car every day, check the fire extinguisher, tires, brakes, water, oil, reflectors, service schedule, and other components.
- Report issues with vehicles as soon as possible.
- Observe all safety and car safety regulations.
- Observe all safety and risk management rules and procedures of the organization.
- Observe the national driving regulations.
- Assist with logistics for workshops and events.
- Carry out other office tasks as designated and permitted.
- Carry out any additional reasonable tasks that the supervisor may occasionally assign you.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Secondary Education Certificate.
- An accredited driving college’s driving certificate.
- A VETA or NIT certificate of advanced driving proficiency.
- Pristine Class C driver’s license.
- Having prior experience chauffeuring high-ranking officials will be beneficial.
- A promising driving record and a clean driving history.
- A minimum of three years of driving experience gained from employment in the public, private, or international sectors.
- Experience traveling a long distance.
- Strong oral communication skills in both English and Swahili.
- Adaptability and capacity to collaborate with diverse individuals.
Required Knowledge, Proficiency, and Competencies:
- Awareness of Tanzanian traffic laws.
- Timely, dependable, and tactful when handling private information.
- Strong communication abilities in Swahili and English.
- Look polished (Professional appearance).
- The capacity to carry out simple auto repairs.
