Dark Earth Carbon (DEC), acting on behalf of Tanganyika Plywood Limited (TPL), is seeking a committed Electrical Engineer.

 

 

A brief overview of the Company:

In East Africa, Tanganyika Plywood LTD (TPL) manufactures plywood for regional and local markets. It makes use of sustainable plantation resources, including pine and eucalyptus. After eight years of operation, the company is currently seeking a proactive Electrical Engineer to help it reach its expansion objectives. The project is for a full-time on-site role at the company’s Mafinga, Tanzania location.

 

Overview of the Job:

To supervise the electrical systems and procedures in our manufacturing plant, specifically the DD Saw, Boiler, Dryer Composing line, and Veneer Peeling machine, we are seeking an Electrical Engineer. The job entails making sure electrical systems are safe, effective, and functioning as well as putting modifications into place to boost output and quality.

 

 

The Responsibilities and Duties:

  • To design, install, and maintain electrical systems that support manufacturing operations, such as power distribution, control panels, wire systems, and components.
  • To collaborate with the team to monitor and optimize electrical characteristics, such as power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation, to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Create and manage technical documentation, such as design requirements, drawings, and test reports.
  • To troubleshoot electrical issues and take appropriate action to save downtime and keep production on track.
  • To conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems to guarantee peak performance and adherence to safety rules.
  • Create and implement energy-saving programs to decrease expenses and environmental effect.
  • To provide technical support and training to production personnel on electrical systems and processes.

 

 

Job Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a comparable discipline.
  • The Certification as a Professional Engineer is advantageous.
  • The ability to operate both alone and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
  • The willingness to work flexible hours to meet production demands.
