At Knauf Gypsum Tanzania Limited, your role as an Electrical Engineer will entail overseeing the electrical department in order to develop and execute the optimal electrical maintenance strategy, plan, and process to enhance plant operational efficiency.
What you intend to do:
- Ensuring that the medium- and low-voltage switchgear, generators, transformers, motors, burners, invertors, plc, instrumentation, and automation control system electrical systems operate effectively and that standard safety instructions are followed.
- Create a planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedule for electrical systems, make sure that all necessary preventive maintenance is performed, and guide the team in taking appropriate action to reduce plant downtime overall and maintain the machinery’s optimal operation, which reduces power consumption overall.
- Respond to requests for assistance with mechanical, electrical, and software issues, carry out root cause analysis, and fix issues to provide engineering support.
- Oversee the introduction of new machinery, working with all pertinent stakeholders to ensure complete installation and necessary commissioning.

- Electrical engineering bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
- Excellent understanding of the manufacturing sector is advantageous, as is familiarity with gypsum products.
- Strong technical understanding of electrical equipment and maintenance procedures.
- Electrical and electronic knowledge.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
