Work Overview of CAMFED:

The Campaign for Female Education, or CAMFED, is well-known throughout the world as a pioneer in girls’ education, a proponent of women’s empowerment and girls’ education at the highest levels, and for its child safety policies and practices. Established in 1993, CAMFED provides assistance to young women as they progress through elementary and secondary education, pursue further education and economic training, and eventually assume leadership roles as advocates, activists, and donors.

 

Work Objective:

The Enterprise Business Financing Officer will support the efficient planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs aimed at empowering young women to make the transition from education to entrepreneurship and secure improved livelihoods, working under the supervision of the Program Manager. Assisting District Program Coordinators in designated operating districts to meet donor requirements, policies, and procedures, and meet deadlines while producing high-quality, quantifiable, and reasonably priced deliverables is another aspect of the job description. Building and managing strategic partnerships with important stakeholders (e.g., relevant government organizations, NGOs, Microfinance organizations (MFIs), funders at the regional and district levels) is part of this, as is motivating and developing the capabilities of the team.

 

Particular Responsibility:

A: MANAGEMENT OF SEED MONEY SCHEME:

  • Oversee the processing, issuance, repayment, and reporting of loans customized to the requirements of young women.
  • Maintain current grant and loan administration systems compliant with KIVA PA2 and Financial Force.
  • Establish productive working connections with outside funding partners to open doors and grant access to youth undergoing transitions.
  • Assist the district level management of the seed money initiative by assembling a formidable resource team.
  • Report on loan processing, disbursement, and default status on a quarterly basis.
  • Create a plan for managing delinquency, with the goal of limiting the rate to no more than 10%.
  • Teach program teams and stakeholders about scheme management.
  • Keep up with national microfinance legislation and regulations and advise CAMFED management appropriately.
  • Take the lead in putting all young women programs into action, making sure that access to finance program activities are delivered in an efficient and high-quality manner in accordance with the yearly work plans and donor targets (e.g., Kiva, Revolving Loan Fund, Financial Practice Grants, Group Loans).
  • Boost the number of young women in the network who take out loans.
  • Oversee the organization’s loanable floating capital.

 

B: RISK MANAGEMENT:

  • Determine any possible hazards related to CAMA members’ ability to obtain loans both inside and outside of CAMFED, then create plans to reduce them.
  • Update risk registrations every quarter with problems arising from the seed money program.
  • Verify borrowers on a quarterly basis for all recipients of grants and loans.
  • Verify that donors are following the organization’s policies when it comes to the management and administration of grants and loans.

 

C: REFORMATION OF THE SYSTEM:

  • Work together with the government and the DBC, CDC, and other relevant ministries to scale up effective practices.
  • Connect CAMA members to technical working committee task teams within the government.
  • Keep track of and gather data on best practices and strategies that help young women obtain loans.
  • Represent CAMFED in person or online as needed at regional, national, and worldwide gatherings.
  • Utilize learning to guide programming by drawing on the knowledge gained from the seed money initiative.

D: SAFEGUARDING AND PROTECTING CHILDREN:

  • Provide training, make sure those involved in loans and grants for young women follow the child safety policy, and get their signatures.
  • Make that companies that receive grants and loans are not harming young women or breaking the legislation against child labor.
  • Discuss the whistleblower policy with stakeholders on a daily basis.
  • Respond to grants and loans for business owners in a courteous and timely manner.

Individual Details:

  • A valid bachelor’s degree in microfinance and enterprise management, a bachelor’s degree in community development as an arts student, a bachelor’s degree in commerce (B.Com. ), a bachelor’s degree in business administration (BBA), a bachelor’s degree in rural development, or a bachelor’s degree in agriculture economics and agribusiness is required of applicants.
  • Demonstrated expertise in a related discipline.
  • Capacity to operate both individually and collaboratively, with excellent communication and detail-oriented abilities.
