Haven of Peace Academy (HOPAC):
The Haven of Peace Trust owns and runs the faith-based educational facility known as Haven of Peace Academy (HOPAC). HOPAC was established in 1994 as a school for missionary children. Since then, it has developed into a Christian international school that serves a wide range of students, including children of missionaries and full-time Christian service workers, children of foreign professionals employed in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, and children of Tanzanian professionals. The school is presently accepting applications for positions of qualified, experienced, and capable teachers. It is situated in Kunduchi at the intersection of Salasala Road and Bagamoyo Road in Kinondoni Municipal in Dar es Salaam.

Entire School
Academic Assistant Principal.
A leadership role, the Assistant Principal for Academics is subordinate to the Secondary Principal. For middle and senior schools, the assistant principal is in charge of all issues regarding curriculum alignment, student accomplishment and growth data, and professional learning communities (PLCs). The assistant principal is also in charge of middle and senior school resource management and handles both internal and external exams. Among the duties are:
Education:
- Providing assistance to the secondary principal in the assessment and examination of the middle and senior school academic programs, with a focus on curriculum conformity with Cambridge and school standards.
- To collaborate with the primary principal to create a master class schedule, sometimes known as a timeline, and to allocate staff and students to classes and other responsibilities.
- To oversee the standards and procedures used by instructors in reporting, grading, and assessment in order to gauge student accomplishment.
- To support the principal in observing student performance, following their advancement toward desired results, determining the appropriate course of action for intervention, and managing the intervention team.
- To support the principal in managing the middle and senior school extracurricular program coordination.
- To arrange for the middle and senior schools’ supply and resource purchases to be coordinated.
- Must oversee several recurring tasks all year long (rosters, weekly newsletters, locker assignments, etc.).
- To make plans for replacement teachers when necessary Parents and students.
- To identify the students’ needs in terms of education, health, socialization, spirituality, and psychology and to create programs to address those requirements.
- Should keep thorough records on each pupil.
- To oversee data analysis, including upkeep of student progress and accomplishment monitoring systems.
- To guarantee the smooth running of both internal and external exams.
- To arrange events (such as parent-teacher conferences, informal get-togethers, and back-to-school nights) where parents can meet and discuss their children’s education with secondary schools.
- To keep precise records of the attendance of students.
Additional/ Others:
- To keep the secondary principal updated on general issues pertaining to the secondary school and to address any issues, whether regular or unusual, as they come up.
- To help with Service Emphasis Week coordination (in collaboration with the principal of the primary school and the supervisor of service learning).
- To finish paperwork related to quality assurance and serve on the curriculum domain accreditation team.
- To carry out additional tasks that the secondary principal assigns.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS.
- PGDE or bachelor’s degree in education/teaching.
- Three years of classroom instruction.
- Preferred is prior experience with the Cambridge International curriculum.
- Three years of minimum experience in the classroom, ideally in a multicultural environment.
- Proficient in English, the training language.
- Devoted Christian.
