The Context and Environment:
You will work on rotation after completing an 8 to 10-week integration phase at the Dar Es Salaam office.
The rotations will be 8/2, with you working and being accommodated on-site for 8 weeks (in Tanga) and 2 weeks at the Dar Es Salaam office.
Your work schedule will be 6 days per week on-site, and 5 days per week in the Dar Es Salaam office.
You will be compensated for one day each week spent on-site.
The subsidiary will provide you communal housing in Dar Es Salaam as well as private lodging on-site.

Activities:
The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) is a large infrastructure project that would transport crude oil from Uganda’s oil reserves to the Tanzanian port of Tanga in the Indian Ocean for export. During this VIE mission, you will assist with electrical engineering work on a pipeline project, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, industry standards, and safety measures.
To guarantee that the project is completed on schedule and efficiently, this function requires hands-on supervision, troubleshooting, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
As a Field Electrical Engineer, the primary activities will be:
- To promote a safe culture on-site and ensure that HSE policies are followed.
- To conduct risk assessments and safety audits.
- To oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, equipment, and power distribution at pipeline locations.
- To support troubleshooting activities to resolve electrical problems.
- The field design clashes/changes should be identified and corrective actions recommended.
- To collaborate with contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders to ensure that the electrical work runs smoothly.
- To assist with the preparation of As-Built documentation and technical operating procedures.
The expected qualifications:
- Degree in electrical, instrumentation, and energy engineering.
The Technical skills:
- Strong knowledge of HV and LV electrical, including standards and equipment.
- A mastery of control systems and electrical networks, including equipment, networks, and signals.
- First-hand familiarity in electrical work is beneficial.
The Computer skills:
- Excellent grasp of Microsoft Suite (reporting) and Excel (data processing).
- Knowledge of Autocad – Diagram (schematic and drawing creation).
- Knowledge of PowerBI (database management).
