The EITS (Electrical Instrumentation, Telecommunication, and Security Systems) Contractor on the EACOP project, as the company and project executor, requires the services of a Finance Controller.

 

A Brief description of the role:

This is a hands-on single contributor role. The Finance Controller is responsible for actively steering Finance and Control elements that are crucial to achieving operational efficiency, cost management and control, and SE PS TZ compliance. The Finance Controller will collaborate with the Business Controller and other relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the EACOP Project, including but not limited to the local and international project team, SE PS TZ GM, East Africa and Anglophone Africa cluster organization, EACOP customer, tax and local authorities, and consulting and accounting firms.

 

 

The key responsibilities:

Accounting and Taxation:

  • Accounting and taxation are the overall responsibilities of the entity.
  • Ensure collaboration with local accounting, tax, consulting, and audit firms.
  • Preparing and directing statutory audits.
  • To maintain a consistent cadence of engagements (calls and meetings) with an accounting professional to ensure accurate and timely accounting.
  • To check all financial statements issued by the accounting firm.
  • Lead the P&L and B/S reviews.
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition.
  • Maintain compliance in inter-company transactions.
  • Lead discussions on invoicing, accounts receivable, and collections.
  • Overseeing the execution of the EACOP project’s special tax regime, including the VAT exemption process.
  • Master ERP is in charge of enhancement.

 

Bank and Treasury:

  • Manage bank operations (payments, reconciliations, etc.) and relationships with local banks.
  • To lead cash forecasting and optimizing cash position.

 

 

Governance and Compliance:

  • To ensure Customer Project Process, Delegation of Authority, Schneider Group Guidelines, and Reporting.
  • A Charter of Accounts adoption, internal controls, and IFRS.
  • To ensure external compliance with local regulations.

 

 

Control and Reporting:

  • Control costs and expenses, as well as evaluate margins at completion.
  • The ownership of the rolling forecast and budget.
  • Responsible for timely reporting of actual financials, forecasts (RF), and dedicated projects (SGV).
  • Performance monitoring by business lines.
  • Financial outcomes and indicators are analyzed for variance, presented, and explained.
  • Review the risks and opportunities.
  • To anticipate, frame, and monitor the financial actions of Installation and Service.
  • As a business partner, optimize the entity’s financial performance and project execution.

 

 

The minimum requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, commerce, or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • A minimum of 8 years of active hands-on operational experience executing and leading finance, control, accounting, tax, and compliance functions.
  • A experience with global multinational corporations (MNCs) is preferred.
  • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) has extensive knowledge of accounting and tax.
  • Superb ERP knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.
  • An excellent communication skills.
  • A team player capable of working within disparate teams to reach a shared goal.
  • A result-oriented and responsive: Capable of quickly asking appropriate questions in order to grasp topics, as well as building and leading action plans, completing tasks, and resolving challenges.
  • A Growth Mindset: Open to guidance, instruction, and learning; flexible; adaptable; curious; and self-motivated.
  • A proactive: Requires minimal supervision; somewhat autonomous.
  • Pays close attention to detail and has a passion for accuracy.
  • The knowledge of Power BI is advantageous.
