The EngenderHealth is looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship provides an exceptional opportunity to obtain hands-on experience in financial management inside an international non-governmental organization.
The Job Summary:
The main (primary) goal (objectives) of the Finance Intern position is to provide practical experience in financial management within a nonprofit organization, including exposure to budgeting, financial reporting, and donor compliance, while also contributing to the smooth operation of EngenderHealth Tanzania’s finance department. The Finance Intern position provides an exceptional chance for a determined individual to obtain important experience in financial management in the nonprofit sector. The intern will help the finance team ensure the success of EngenderHealth Tanzania’s programs and initiatives, eventually advancing the organization’s goal in Tanzania.
THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
As a Finance Intern, you will collaborate closely with the Finance team to assist the following tasks.
- To assist with the creation of financial reports, budgets, and predictions.
- To verify and reconciling financial transactions, assuring correctness and adherence to company policies.
- Assisting in the upkeep of financial records and documentation.
- Helping to process invoices, payments, and expenditure reports.
- Basic data analysis and financial summary as needed.
- To provide administrative support during audits and other financial reviews.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of financial systems and processes.

THE REQUIREMENTS:
- A fresh (recent) graduate in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline with a GPA of Upper Second or higher.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills, as well as a keen eye for detail.
- A fundamental understanding of financial principles and accounting methods.
- A proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Understanding of accounting software is advantageous.
- The excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- The commitment to EngenderHealth’s principles and objectives.
The Preferred Skills, Abilities, and Functions:
- The experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as the ability to operate a finance/accounting-related ERP system.
- To demonstrated awareness of relevant finance/accounting processes, as well as the ability to consistently apply relevant policies, procedures, and best practices in the workplace.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, as well as to solicit and receive assistance and cooperation from others.
- Capability to set priorities and plan his or her own work.
- Good functioning (working) understanding of English.
