We are searching for a qualified finance intern.

The Kafika House is an I-NGO that manages the Kafika House programme. We offer a safe and caring home away from home for children undergoing pre and post-operative care and rehabilitation for surgically treatable disorders such as cleft lip and palate, clubfoot, skeletal fluorosis, burn scar contractures, osteomyelitis, hydrocephalus, and spina bifida. Our objective is for no kid in Tanzania to live with a treatable condition.

 

 

The Job Overview and General Responsibilities:

The Kafika House, an international NGO, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our team. The ideal applicant will play an important role in supporting the organization’s financial operations by assuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to obtain important experience in an international NGO and contribute to meaningful work.

Work Location: Arusha, Tanzania (Short-term internship contract)

Position Title: Finance Intern – One position

 

The key working connections with Finance Coordinator, Chief Financial Officer, Finance Controller, Programmes Manager, Facility Coordinators, and members of the Programmes (Operations) team.

 

 

The Role Responsibilities:

  • To assist in creating and keeping accurate financial records and reporting.
  • Assist the Finance Coordinator with processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • To participate in monthly account reconciliations, which include bank and supplier data.
  • To assist in developing budgets and financial projections for projects and organizational operations.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational finance policies and procedures.
  • To assist with auditing processes by arranging and delivering the necessary documents.
  • Monitor spending to verify it is in line with approved budgets.
  • Keep accurate and secure financial records, including digital and physical.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks as needed within the financial department.

 

 

The Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • A CPA graduates are preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a similar profession is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of accounting software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • A proficient in both written and spoken English and Swahili.
  • To demonstrate ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
