The Job responsibilities:

a. Task automation champions identify functions that can be performed.
b. The inventory management (including COGS/BOMs, margin reports, cost of sales, and inventory control).
c. To review the work of the compliance officer.
d. Manage reports from investors and donors.
e. Budget variances are reported to management.
f. Payroll processing/management, including all relevant statutory filings and payments, such as WCF annual filings and reports, PAYE, SDL, loan board, and NSSF.
g. Manage all payments for the company, including branches, subsidiaries, and parents (both local and overseas), to ensure that:

  • Both cash and bank accounts are appropriately managed in accordance with business policy.
  • Payments are reviewed according to corporate policies.
  • All payments are completed on time, posted, and within budget.
  • All retirements follow business policies.
  • All documents are filed physically and uploaded to ERPNext on schedule.
  • The Bank reconciliations are completed promptly.
  • The cash flow forecasting is performed at least weekly

 

h. Manage your accruals and prepayments.
i. The asset management, including fixed asset registration.
j. The intercompany transaction management in accordance with transfer pricing principles.

 

 

The Knowledge and experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting.
  • Years of Experience: At least 6 years’ experience in a comparable profession.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting.
  • Years of Experience: At least 6 years’ experience in a comparable profession.
  • Other accounting experience should include payroll, internal controls, payments, and tax compliance.
  • Experience as a leader will be advantageous.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written English, as well as Swahili.
  • The ability to work independently (prioritize, multitask, and solve problems) with minimal supervision and complete things accurately and on schedule.
  • Must be proficient in computer productivity software such as Microsoft Office, Google G Suite (e.g., Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets), and ERPNext systems.
  • The ability to maintain the secrecy of sensitive information.
  • A love for the food sector and its societal implications.
