Job Title: Finance Officer – 2 Posts

The ASA Microfinance Tanzania Limited (ASAMTL) is a subsidiary of ASA International, Asia and Africa’s largest and fastest-growing international microfinance banking institutions (“ASA International” or the “Group”). ASA International supports financial inclusion and has successfully demonstrated that access to financial services reduces poverty and improves socioeconomic advancement among its mostly female clientele. The company operates in Tanzania, with an emphasis on empowering low-income people, particularly women, by giving them access to cheap financial services. ASAMTL is seeking highly driven and competitive individuals to fill the following jobs.
The Job responsibilities:
- To maintain petty cash on a daily basis.
- Create monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
- To review and implement financial policies.
- To participate in financial audits.
- To maintain and record books of accounts, and reconcile them on a timely basis.
- To respond to inquiries from the Chief Financial Officer and the ASAI Dhaka Team about financial performance, special reporting demands, and so on.
- To liaison with the appropriate government department, submitting returns, and ensuring correct compliance.
- To handle corporate tax, pay tax, and other withholding taxes.
- To ensure and manage external and internal audits.
- Make sure timely reporting of all monthly financial data.
- Ensure that positive pay transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Ensure that monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are completed in a timely and accurate way.
- To collaborate with other departments within the organization to achieve the overall department goals and objectives.
- To monitor and analyze departmental work to create more effective methods and resource allocation while keeping a high degree of accuracy.
- Support in developing and implementing new procedures and features to improve the department’s workflow.
- Maintain communication with banks and financial institutions on loans, and support the controller with daily banking requirements.
- Ensure the optimal utilization of funds.
- Visit various branches on a regular basis, as needed.
- Complete day-to-day tasks, ensuring that nothing is waiting.
The academic Qualification and Experience Requirements:
- Accounting, finance, or related courses require a bachelor’s degree.
- Being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be advantageous.
- The MSc/MBA is a bonus.
- A minimum of two years of professional experience in finance or accounting roles is required.
- The preferably experience working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), financial institutions, banks, or consulting firms.
- The in-depth understanding of corporate finance law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial management software (such as SAP).
