Overview of CAMFED:

The Campaign for Female Education, or CAMFED, is well-known throughout the world as a pioneer in girls’ education, a proponent of women’s empowerment and girls’ education at the highest levels, and for its child safety policies and practices. Established in 1993, CAMFED provides assistance to young women as they progress through elementary and secondary education, pursue further education and economic training, and eventually assume leadership roles as advocates, activists, and donors.

 

Job Summary:

In charge of giving CAMFED Tanzania accounting and financial help. Daily financial accounting tasks, such as processing payments, filing and retrieving documents, supplying data for report preparation, assisting in the creation of partner/donor proposals, budgeting, financial accounting, and grant reporting, are all part of the job description.

Particular Responsibility:

  • On a daily basis, make sure that all financial transactions are completed and documented in compliance with CAMFED Tanzania and IAS standards and procedures.
  • In accordance with donor policies and regulations, CAMFED Tanzania, IAS, and donor guidelines, prepare checks and online payments for the financial manager’s assessment, including accurate coding and supporting documentation.
  • For the bank and mobile wallet accounts of CAMFED Tanzania, cash flow management and bank reconciliation are performed.
  • Creation of a number of supporting schedules for the financial statements in order to aid with the fieldwork process and the annual audit.
  • Preparing the monthly accounts and any other deliverables that must be completed and reviewed by the ninth of each month to guarantee data accuracy.
  • Uphold financial connections and serve as the main point of contact.
  • Keeping accurate records of finances and upholding a reliable system for filing and retrieving documents.
  • Creation of the payroll journal and the payroll’s monthly reconciliation.
  • Any additional acceptable task that the line manager designates.
  • Keep a close eye on the deadlines and goals set forth in the work plans for the designated contributors.
  • Create monthly donor management reports while checking that all donor expenses are correctly reported and attributed to the appropriate codes.
  • To guarantee that the work plan and the intended grant objectives are in line, make sure a project or grant is appropriately budgeted for on the quarterly expenditure permission form.
  • Talk about the grant’s implementation every two weeks with the program manager, comparing it to the approved expenditure authorization for the quarter and the grant’s promise. Point out any activities that are behind schedule to the head of financial actions.
  • Together with the appropriate management, review the monthly donor reports and identify any areas that pose a financial risk in accordance with the donor’s requirements so that the managers can take prompt corrective action.
  • Participate in monthly grant calls and provide updates on the project’s or grant’s finances.
  • Provide assistance with the creation of proposals by submitting materials, such as sample budgets.
  • Completely engage in the creation of the CAMFED yearly operational budget by coordinating donor funding files with ongoing grants and their respective work plans.
  • Creating Expenditure Authorization (EA) plans on a quarterly basis.
  • Work closely with program managers to closely monitor budget spending and escalate any necessary adjustments that might call for rebasing the budget.
  • Before proposing further approval, check the travel spending plans and e-PRFs, and then review the budgets for the program activities.

 

Individual Details:

  • An accounting bachelor’s degree or a comparable qualification or experience.
  • Management accountant, certified public accountant, or a similar professional level.
  • Two or more years of experience, ideally in the auditing and banking sectors.
  • Strong proficiency with sophisticated Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Quick and detail-oriented.
  • Team player.
  • Expertise operating in a multicultural environment.
  • The capacity to work with little direction.
