We are currently accepting applications from eligible and experienced individuals to serve as Mydia-Tz’s volunteer Programs & Grants Coordinator AND Finance Officer. Project planning and management, social sciences, and accounting, finance, commerce, or allied subjects are the preferred fields of study.

Tasks and Accountabilities:
- The Finance Officer will report to the Head of Finance and Administration and be responsible for all aspects of bookkeeping and accounts, procurement support, asset tracking and control, effective financial reporting processing in a timely, accurate, relevant, and informative manner, as well as general administration or operations duties.
- To support daily accounting transactions by keeping financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting rules.
- To ensure budget planning, preparation, modification, and implementation.
- Create/ prepare payment requests and ensuring they are sent to the proper parties for evaluation and approval.
- To establish and maintaining internal control systems, and ensuring that accounting standards are met.
- Make sure that all staff comply with government financial and tax regulations.
- Create/ prepare financial reports and ensuring their timely submission to management and donors.
- To ensure donor compliance with all grant/funded initiatives, including reporting criteria, forms, and timelines.
- To represent Mydia-Tz at external financial management events, workshops, and networks.
Job Qualifications, Competencies/Attributes:
The volunteer Finance Officer is required to have, but not limited to, the following characteristics:
- A university diploma or degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or business administration.
- A Master’s Degree is an added benefit.
- Competencies and Attributes for all positions.
- A proven experience handling organizational or project budgets.
- A minimum of 2 (two) years of volunteer experience in a similar role, preferably with NGOs/INGOs.
- Superb writing abilities, time management, and excellent attention to detail.
- Computer literacy, with a focus on Microsoft software such as Word and Excel.
- The excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated team building, organizing, and communication abilities (both written and oral).
- The innovative, adaptable, disciplined, goal-oriented, and open to learning.
The Office Offer:
This is a voluntary position, and successful candidates will work physically at the office full-time. The office will only provide office space, minimal working equipment, internet, and a monthly communication allowance, in accordance with Mydia-Tz standards.
Take Note: Mydia-Tz is a tiny organization that collaborates with several stakeholders on a volunteer basis. While we appreciate our volunteers’ persistent efforts, the organization is unable to provide wages or allowances other than communication allowance owing to funding limits, unless the staff is directly engaged on a funded project.
Our preferences:
Preference would be given to those with experience/skills in financial and administrative/operations management and who currently reside in Kasulu town, Kigoma Region, Tanzania.
