The Finance Manager provides guidance and administrative oversight to the Finance volunteer in order to help the Finance Department with tasks including data entry, scanning, filing, asset verification, and reconciliation. All of these tasks are carried out in compliance with donor and Pathfinder policies and laws. aims for operational excellence to support Pathfinder’s growth; assesses, creates, and applies best practices for operations in data input, scanning, filing, asset verification, and reconciliation, among other areas. establishes positive and productive connections with clients and team members. Works together with other employees to support and plan departmental activities.

Principal Tasks / Accountabilities:

Reconciliation, filing, and recording.

  • Financial document scanning is done.
  • Enter business dealings into the accounting program.
  • Reconcile the transactions that were entered into Sirenic.
  • Help with the creation of the monthly and final project financial reports.
  • Put financial records in order.
  • Asset Certifications.

Support for audits:

  • Give the information requested by the auditors.

Minimum Level of Training and Experience in the Workplace:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business management, finance, accounting, or a similar discipline; an equivalent degree; or a combination of training and work experience that results in the necessary skills.
  • University program – practical experience.

Minimum Job-Specific Competencies Needed:

  • Advanced understanding of accounting and finance concepts and procedures for international non-profit organizations.
  • Capacity to create budgets and mentor others in their preparation.
  • Risk analysis and forecasting: a track record of locating risk areas, estimating costs, and making financial projections.
  • Financial Reporting: Capacity to create and submit necessary financial reports.
  • Proven capacity to guide, mentor, and oversee the work of others is required for management and supervision roles.

  • Planning and Management of Programs and Projects: Proficient in organizing and managing projects and programs to meet performance goals, including the prompt execution and reporting of activities supported by donors.
  • Operations and Financial Management: In-depth understanding of project finance management and operations.
  • Presentation Skills: Capacity to address both small and big audiences with presentations on findings and merchandise.
  • Advanced abilities in fostering cooperative relationships between partners, public servants, and communities are known as community relations.

  • Languages: Demonstrated proficiency in writing and speaking English and Kiswahili.

  • Passion for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights: Dedicated to gender, family planning, reproductive health care, and the elimination of harmful traditional behaviors, as well as maternal and child health services.
  • Self-Management and Teamwork: The capacity to operate both alone and collaboratively, to prosper in a matrix organization, to pay close attention to detail, and to efficiently handle stress in a hectic work setting.
  • Ability to keep information private regarding matters pertaining to one’s job.
