Médecins du Monde (MDM), a campaigning health organization dedicated to worldwide solidarity, has been providing care to the world’s most disadvantaged populations for almost 30 years. It has continued to highlight barriers to getting health care and has achieved long-term gains in health-for-all programs. Workers for this independent group do more than just provide care and treatment; they also criticize breaches of human dignity and rights and try to improve conditions for people living in precarious situations. MdM presently works in 44 countries across all continents, focusing on four main areas: caring for the health of migrants and displaced people, promoting sexual and reproductive health, reducing drug-related damage, and responding to emergencies and crises.

 

 

The main responsibilities:

The Grants & Reporting Manager reports directly to the General Coordinator and is in charge of grant management, as well as authoring high-quality proposals, reports, and project development materials. He or she works closely with the country coordination team to guarantee compliance with donor standards, norms, and regulations.

 

The Working Relationship:

The Hierarchical link: General Coordinator.
The Grants Officer works closely with the Country Coordination team, which includes coordinators for harm reduction, SRHR, support (administration, finance, logistics), and advocacy.

 

The primary responsibilities are:

THE FUNDRAISING AND GRANT MANAGEMENT:

  • To give technical assistance with fundraising, donor relations, and engagement.
  • To study prospective grant opportunities from a variety of sources, including UN agencies and foreign missions (embassies), while working closely with the HQ grants department.
  • To maintain donor mapping up to date, including crucial details such as grant offers, deadlines, and application conditions.
  • In coordination with the General Coordinator, plan meetings and follow up with possible funders.
  • To represents MDM in various grant and fundraising platforms and meetings as directed or permitted by the General Coordinator.

 

 

THE PROJECT DEVELOPMENT:

  • To handle the whole management cycle, including proposal writing, reporting, amendments, partnership management and follow-up, as well as grant start and closure.
  • To oversee the overall preparation of grant submissions by establishing clear priorities, allocating duties, and fulfilling deadlines.
  • Monitor and track the status of submitted grant applications, ensuring timely follow-up and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Begin creating proposals, preparing budgets, and gathering supporting documentation.
  • To work closely with the program, logistics, human resources, and finance departments to guarantee consistency across the various components of proposals, such as the log frame, budget, procurement requirements, story, and so on.
  • Collaborate with team members to collect information and data needed for grant applications.
  • Participate in grant-related meetings, talks, and strategy sessions to share ideas and insights.

 

 

THE STRATEGY, COORDINATION AND REPORTING:

  • To base on the Country Strategy, the Grants and Reporting Manager helps to design funding strategies and action plans.
  • To oversee adherence to donor procedures/guidelines and timeframes, including creating and sharing a draft plan to relevant staff.
  • To manage stakeholder reporting (donors, local governments, etc.) by creating a reporting calendar and assuring timely submissions.
  • To guarantee that reports are sent on time to Headquarters.
  • To monitor mission-level reporting and ensure that documents are submitted on time.
  • Take the lead on report writing (non-technical parts), liaise with various departments to assemble contributions, and ensure the overall narrative is cohesive and harmonized.
  • Work closely with the program, logistics, and finance departments to ensure that the various report components are consistent.
  • To serve as the point of contact for report-related inquiries, such as templates and compliance, in coordination with the Program Support Officer at HQ.
  • To coordinate the creation of fundraising materials, presentations, infographics, and other communication items as needed.
  • To provide technical assistance to general and program coordinators in the development of partnership agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MoU), donor compliance, and project cycle management.

 

 

THE REQUIRED SKILLS:

The Training and Experience:

  • A master’s degree in social sciences, humanitarian or development studies, political science, international relations, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of four years’ experience in a similar capacity.
  • The experience writing proposals and reports.
  • Experience managing and preparing high-quality narrative and financial reports for a diverse range of donors.
  • The experience creating and managing project budgets.
  • The knowledge/ understanding international donor compliance.
  • The experience in humanitarian and development contexts is greatly desired.
  • An experience with multi-donor budgets and multi-country grants.

IT:
