The Job Description:

The Position Overview:

We are looking for a Graphic Designer to produce and manage Mkuki na Nyota Limited’s (MNN) print, photography, video, and web/interactive creative solutions that support strategic business goals while maintaining brand consistency. Specifically, the Graphic Designer will assist the Production Department by directing and coordinating all design projects from inception to completion, including the creation of original items such as illustrations, infographics, and video material. The Graphic Designer will work with MNN’s internal teams and external stakeholders to complete digital and print creative projects on time and within budget.

 

 

The Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in graphic design, fine arts, illustration, or a similar field in print and digital media.
  • Adobe Creative Suite skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign).
  • The portfolio exhibiting creative design work (university or freelancing experience is acceptable).
  • The basic skills in motion graphics, animation, and digital photography are advantageous.
  • A passion for literature and reading is beneficial.
  • Extremely well-organized, with outstanding attention to detail.
  • The self-motivated and adept at problem solutions.
  • The experience with creating social media material.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise responsibilities, and communicate effectively and concisely.
  • The skilled at coordinating graphic components for publication projects.
  • The experience coordinating with printing and production teams to meet publication needs.
  • The effective communication with the Digital and Communication, Production, Editorial, Business Development, and Sales departments to guarantee a smooth workflow.

 

 

 

The key responsibilities:

  • Help to create cover designs, illustrations, and layouts for print and digital publications.
  • Assist the design team with formatting and completing book covers, promotional materials, and social media posts.
  • To make modifications and adjustments to current designs as needed.
  • To create material for various social media networks.
  • To collaborate with editorial and production teams to ensure that designs reflect each project’s concept.
  • Maintain design templates and style guides to ensure consistency across projects.
  • Make sure that all design work is completed on schedule and to quality standards.
