The Role Purpose:

The Plan International is looking for a competent communications and graphic designer that can translate concepts and ideas into visual representations for print and electronic media. The ideal candidate will have extensive understanding of contemporary design software and be proficient in all stages of the design process, from concept to final product. Working with many teams across PIT, the communications and graphic designer should be able to transform written or spoken ideas into a design that connects. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in branding and marketing principles, with the ability to select and apply the best style and layout for a variety of projects. This candidate should be capable of comprehending project requirements and turning them into visually appealing designs. Furthermore, exceptional photography skills are required, as she or he will be responsible for capturing high-quality photos that improve and support the overall communications plan. This position involves creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to new themes and concepts while keeping brand consistency across all materials.

 

 

Dimensions of the role:

  • To work on a variety of projects and media, using multiple software programs to visualize and create new graphic designs that fit the organization’s objectives.
  • To obtain feedback from the supervisor to ensure that designs adhere to corporate standards and brand expectations, and that ideas are expressed accurately.
  • To work individually and collaboratively with the communications team to accomplish deadlines.
  • The schedule project implementation based on workload, which may comprise five or more concurrent requests.
  • To examine existing procedures, identify problems, and develop remedies to enhance design capabilities.
  • To update and manage internal databases for design, photography, and video.
  • To collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with many teams on a variety of products, including web pages, presentations, signs, internal communications, newsletters, and campaign materials.
  • To translate strategic direction into high-quality design while adhering to an established brand identity.
  • Create concepts by hand or with software, and then implement original material by choosing the best use of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout.
  • To manage the design and uploading of all project materials using best practices for a content management system.
  • Design and implement specific classes using trend intelligence and knowledge.
  • To capture high-quality photographs at events and campaigns that reflect the organization’s beliefs.
  • Stay updated about evolving communication and development trends and techniques. You will investigate and apply novel communication strategies and techniques to increase the effect of Plan International Tanzania’s work.
