Position Title: Head of IT
ASA Microfinance (Tanzania) Limited
ASA Microfinance (Tanzania) Limited, also known as “ASA Tanzania,” is a division of ASA International Group pic, also known as “ASA International” or “the Group.” The Group is one of the biggest international microfinance organizations, providing low-income, mostly female, entrepreneurs in Africa and the aeronautical industry with socially conscious financial services.

Role description and duties:
The strategic development, execution, and administration of the organization’s information technology management information systems will fall under the purview of the Head of IT & MIS.
A proactive leader with in-depth knowledge of both technical advancements and microfinance operations is needed for the position. Principal duties consist of:
Planning Strategically:
- Create and implement an IT and MIS strategy that is in line with the overarching aims and objectives of the company.
- Find ways to use data analytics and technology in microfinance operations to enhance customer satisfaction, scalability, and efficiency.
- Keep up with new developments in technology and industry trends to spur creativity and gain a competitive edge.
Management of IT Infrastructure:
- In charge of the planning, development, and upkeep of a reliable IT infrastructure that includes networks, security systems, hardware, and software.
- Assure IT systems’ dependability, accessibility, and security to enable continuous corporate operations.
- To protect data integrity and privacy, establish and enforce IT rules, processes, and best practices.
Information systems for management (MIS):
- Take the lead in creating and improving MIS systems to help the organization as a whole make data-driven decisions.
- Work together with stakeholders to specify reporting specifications and guarantee the correct and timely supply of management data.
- Use dashboards and analytics tools to track organizational performance and keep an eye on key performance indicators.
Management of Vendors:
- To guarantee high-quality service delivery and economical solutions, manage connections with IT vendors, service providers, and consultants.
- To maximize value for the company, assess and negotiate pricing terms, service level agreements, and contracts.
- Keep an eye on vendor performance and adherence to agreed-upon terms.
Group Headship:
- Assemble, train, and guide a top-notch IT & MIS team that can produce outcomes in a hectic setting.
- Encourage the department to have a collaborative, innovative, and ongoing learning environment.
- Assist team members in adhering to organizational goals by exercising leadership and providing direction.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, computer science, or a similar discipline.
- A master’s degree will be beneficial.
- Verified Ten years of experience, ideally in the financial services or microfinance industries, in a leadership position managing IT and MIS operations.
- Strong technical background in database administration, software development, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure management.
- Familiarity with business intelligence software, data analytics tools, and MIS platforms.
- Outstanding interpersonal, stakeholder management, and communication abilities.
- A love for using data and technology to promote operational excellence and corporate expansion.
Workplace:
- As a member of the Tanzanian team, you will have the chance to work together with colleagues in Asia and Africa.
Line of reporting:
- The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will receive reports from the Head of IT & MIS.
Pay (Salary):
