The Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) strives to be Africa’s premier provider of accessible specialist health services, both as a healthcare social enterprise and through community development programs for the most vulnerable. CCBRT is committed to preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible, and it also conducts substantial maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) initiatives, such as obstetric fistula repairs. The Maternity and Newborn Wing is a referral center for high-risk and emergency deliveries in Dar es Salaam and Tanzania’s Eastern Zone.

In order to strengthen our nursing department, CCBRT is looking for dynamic and experienced Medical Attendant (Health Volunteer) to provide help to clinicians at CCBRT in respective allotted areas (OPD, IPD, or OTD).

 

Job Responsibilities/ role:

  • As a medical attendant, you will be expected to ensure that all working tools are present and in excellent working order, to direct patients and family appropriately.
  • To assist patients in preparing for their appointments with the doctor or in the consulting room/theatre.
  • You are also expected to communicate effectively with doctors and other personnel, guarantee efficient workflow, and help control patient flow in the clinical area.
  • Transport patients, equipment, and supplies between units while also verifying specimens and transporting them to the lab.
  • Also you will be responsible for keeping the environment clean, peaceful, calm, and comfortable for the patients, as well as cleaning on a weekly and monthly basis.

 

The role is available under the CCBRT health volunteer terms and conditions.

 

 

Candidates:

  • Form 4 certificate + one year of basic nursing training from a government-approved institution.
  • A minimum of one year of work experience.
  • A Computer literate.
  • Excellent communication abilities in English and Swahili.
  • A flexibility.
  • A Multitasking.
  • A Proactive and eager to learn.
