Job Title: HQ Systems Administrator – 2 Posts

Work location: Dar es Salaam

The Job Purpose:

Perform daily maintenance, monitoring, and support of NMB working tools at the headquarters and branches, as well as quality assurance of supplier work and service delivery that meets and exceeds business and customer objectives (availability, recoverability, security, and continuous improvement).

 

The Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily and scheduled maintenance of Branch user working tools (Desktops, Laptops, Teller Printers, MFP’s, Desktop Printers, Flatbed scanners, Cheques Scanners, CCTV gargets, forex boards, Note Machines Counting, Sorting, Banding & Strapping Machines); Electric power systems (Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supply – UPS, Stabilizers, Inverters, Solar / Wind Power systems, etc.); Self Service terminals (Onsite & Offsite ATMs, Branch POS terminals, Merchant.
  • To perform a daily morning check for all branches within your zone/HQ, and resolve/escalate any issues that require maintenance.
  • Every six months, I am responsible for updating and maintaining the Asset Management database, current inventory, disposal procedure, and monitoring the life cycle of the branch working tools.
  • Be responsible for resolving and closing support working tools incidents and problems reported to Service Manager from branches, ensuring SLA(s) and customer expectations are met.
  • Be responsible for attending all scheduled maintenance activities, such as preventive and corrective maintenance on working tools.
  • To supervise vendors (Quality Assurance) on-site when performing planned and unplanned maintenance on working tools to ensure the quality of the completed job (good workmanship) in the shortest possible time to avoid unnecessary delays while minimizing disruption to customer services and maximizing cost effectiveness.
  • To ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly statistics, status reports, and graphical aids are completed and regularly updated to fulfill the department’s needs.
  • To provide first-aid and basic troubleshooting training to Branch IT Champions.
  • To escalate to and closely monitor 2nd level support (respective Head Office ICT unit) and 3rd level support (system suppliers) for all branch IT system events and problems that he or she cannot address.
  • Daily follow-up to guarantee that all PCs and laptops are equipped with the most recent NMB standard security safeguards.
  • To prepare and submit a list of old, end-of-life equipment and computers for donation every quarter.
  • To facilitate sign-off from the headquarters/zonal level.
  • The installation and configuration of ATMs, as well as monitoring Zone performance and uptime.

  • The Networking skills (CCNA).
  • Capability to present technical material in a comprehensive but understandable manner.
  • The ability to swiftly recognize the benefits of new technology and how they may affect current business operations.

 

The Qualifications & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in information and communication technology engineering.
  • The Certification in any IT system (such as Cisco, Microsoft, etc.) will be advantageous.
  • Must be committed to self-improvement and enthusiastic about learning new skills and using new technology.
  • A minimum of 3 (three) years of relevant experience supporting banking IT systems.
  • The ICT Service Management (ITIL) experience will be advantageous.
