We are looking to fill the following roles for a five-year USDA project in Tanzania aimed at developing and transforming small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the chicken value chain into sustainable commercial businesses. The project aims to boost the feed sector by combining climate smart technology, improve animal health management practices, create capacity in agricultural finance services, and strengthen extension and service providers.
The post will be located at the project office in Mbeya, Tanzania.
The position summary:
The Human Resource Officer will report to the Chief of Party (COP) and collaborate closely with the Regional HR Business Partner to serve as the HR focal point between office staff, management, and US Headquarters, ensuring legal compliance in all areas of Human Resources in accordance with statutory legislation. In addition, s/he will collaborate closely with the Program Director, Regional HR/Admin, Finance, and Admin Manager on HR key outcome areas.
The qualifications and experience:
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Law, Business Administration, Sociology, or a comparable discipline, as well as at least three years of relevant HR experience.
- The HR Professional Membership will provide an additional benefit. S/he should have prior experience working with USG-funded initiatives and a thorough awareness of Tanzanian labor laws, the NGO Act, and other related regulations.
- Furthermore, the ideal candidate should possess great communication and interpersonal skills, as well as fluency in both spoken and written Swahili and English.
- The strong administrative and organizational skills, as well as the ability to operate under pressure, are necessary.
- S/he should be able to interact professionally with culturally and linguistically diverse colleagues, clients, and consultants.
- The ability to operate independently, take initiative, and use excellent judgment is necessary.
- The applicant/ candidate should have strong computer abilities in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, online research, and database management.
